Type: Side-Wheel Steamer Stats: 210 ft. long and 33 ft. wide Fate: Lost in a hurricane on Oct. 25, 1865 Details: This steamer became the USS Tennessee in 1862. Renamed Mobile in September 1864, she remained in Navy service until sold in March 1865. She was renamed Republic upon her return to civilian ownership.

Name: USS Mobile (originally named ) Launched: 1908, Hamburg, Germany Type: Passenger Liner Stats: 588 ft. long and 65 ft. wide Fate: Scrapped in 1933 Details: Part of the Hamburg-Amerika Line, this ship was seized by the U.S. during WWI and renamed Mobile in 1919.
