The city has daily plane and bus service to these points. § Chartered in 1791, the University is the twentieth oldest institu tion of higher learning in the United States authorized to grant de grees and the second institution founded by state legislative action to offer instruction at the university level. § Although its legal title is the University of Vermont and State Agricultural College, the University is known to its students and alumni as UVM.
