The city has daily plane and bus service to these points. § Chartered in 1791, the University is the twentieth oldest institu­ tion of higher learning in the United States authorized to grant de­ grees and the second institution founded by state legislative action to offer instruction at the university level. § Although its legal title is the University of Vermont and State Agricultural College, the University is known to its students and alumni as UVM.
