The Eagles open the tournament at Mercer Nov. 20 and travel to Akron Nov. 22 before meeting Florida A&M (Nov. 25) and Radford (Nov. 26) in the Savannah Civic Center. The contests in Savannah are part of an eight-game slate as Stetson, Mercer, East Carolina, Akron and Air Force will also play games there. "We're ecstatic to be playing two games in front of our fans in Savannah and to be part of a great field for the first Savannah Invitational," said Georgia Southern coach Mark Byington. "The competition we'll face will serve as a barometer for our young team as we get ready to move into conference play. It's a great way to spend a couple days around Thanksgiving, and we hope Eagle Nation will come out and support the hometown team." The Eagles will play Mercer for the first time since 2007 and meet Radford for the first time since 1985. Georgia Southern last played Florida A&M in 1999 and has never met Akron on the hardwood. A six-team women's college basketball tournament precedes the men's games in Savannah Nov. 22-24. East Carolina, Auburn, West Virginia, Marist, Ball State and North Carolina A&T will play in a round-robin format over three days.
