Name of creator(s): Kay McFarland Jackson; William Jackson; Jean Petersen; Reggie Hibshman Administrative/Biographical History: Kathryn (Kay) Audrey McFarland Jackson (1918-2008) came to Anchorage in 1967 and worked as Recreation Director for the city’s Parks and Recreation Department until her retirement in the 1980s. She served as Ambassador to Anchorage’s Sister City of Incheon, South Korea, and was director of the Anchorage Pleasure Faire (later known as the 3 Barons Renaissance Fair). She founded the Alaskanette Baton Corps and was an active member of the Alaskan Prospectors Society. Scope and Content Description: The collection consists of 2991 35mm color slides taken by McFarland during her service with the city of Anchorage and during her travels throughout Alaska.
