As people age, warding off balance prob- lems, keeping the heart and brain healthy and the joints flexible becomes more impor- tant to overall wellness. These are some of the goals of new senior fitness classes be- ing offered by instructor Olivia Webb at The Firm Family Fitness, 1610 Freedom Drive. ABC (All Body Core) Fitness and Mat Pi- lates, aimed at strengthening and toning core muscles is held 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Ageless Ath- letics is a zero-impact aerobics class using towels, weighted balls and light hand weights for resistance and strength training, flexi- bility, mobility, and cardiovascular health. Ageless Athletics is chair-based and does not require standing for long periods of time, held from 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednes- days, and Fridays. Classes are free to mem- bers and cost $3 per session for non-mem- bers. The Firm accepts insurance programs in- cluding Silver Sneakers, Renew Active, and Healthy Contributions.
