On the evening of June 10, 2018 at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards, The Band’s Visit won ten of the eleven awards it was nominated for. One of those awards was Best Direction of a Musical, which was awarded to Cromer. “It was a composer I loved, a playwright I loved and had worked with; the producer was very open to my input.
