Accreditations & Memberships The Dulwich College International network of schools currently provides for over 9,000 SISA: Shanghai International Schools students in eight cities in four countries in Asia with Colleges in Beijing, Seoul, Association Shanghai Singapore, Suzhou and Yangon as well as two International High Schools in Suzhou and Zhuhai, and sister schools in Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi’an. Our School Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi educates children from ages 2 to 18 and currently serves 350 students from ages 2 to 15. Throughout the Dulwich Kindergarten, Our Students’ Top 5Nationalities students follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and the College offers a rich, dual language approach to learning in both English and Mandarin.From age 7, the primary United States teaching language becomes English in the Junior School with daily, streamed Mandarin lessons to support language development. Throughout the Junior School, China students follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which is enhanced to meet the needs of our international student body. In Year 9 students embark on a Hong Kong three-year set of IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) courses, a rigorous course that requires students to take a broad range of subjects Taiwan covering maths and sciences, English and foreign languages, and the humanities. It culminates in exams at the end of Year 11, and prepares students well for the two-year United Kingdom International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) starting in Year 12. Our current Year 9 students will be the first to participate in the two-year IB Diploma Australia programme. They will graduate in 2022 as our first cohort for Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi. Network-wide University School Calendar The school year is 181 days, running from mid-August to mid-June. It is divided into destinations 2015 - 2019 three terms. United States United Kingdom Co-curricular Activities Students at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi have abundant opportunities to explore So uth Ko rea their creativity, pursue their interests and satisfy their intellectual curiosity outside the Europe classroom. Academic Programmes Senior School Students take 8 individual examination subjects in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) course. They study physics, chemistry and biology as separate subjects and are examined in each discipline. Grades are on a scale of A* to G, with a letter grade of U indicating a failure to meet minimum standards. IB Diploma Programme - Years 12 and 13 (Grades 11 and 12) All Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi students will start the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Year 12 (Grade 11) in preparation for university.     Shanghai, China Overview Introduction The name Shanghai still conjures images of romance, mystery and adventure, but for decades it was an austere backwater. After the success of Mao Zedong's communist revolution in 1949, the authorities clamped down hard on Shanghai, castigating China's second city for its prewar status as a playground of gangsters and colonial adventurers. And so it was. In its heyday, the 1920s and '30s, cosmopolitan Shanghai was a dynamic melting pot for people, ideas and money from all over the planet. Business boomed, fortunes were made, and everything seemed possible. It was a time of breakneck industrial progress, swaggering confidence and smoky jazz venues. Thanks to economic reforms implemented in the 1980s by Deng Xiaoping, Shanghai's commercial potential has reemerged and is flourishing again.
