KEW MEDIA DISTRIBUTION DELIVERS FORMIDABLE LINE-UP OF FICTION PROGRAMMING FOR MIPTV 2019

London, 27 March – Leading global distributor Kew Media Distribution, part of Kew Media Group, will showcase a raft of gripping new fiction programming at MIPTV.

Kew Media Distribution’s fiction slate will headline with Clink, the first drama from the recent partnership deal with the UK’s Channel 5, from multi award-winning production company LA Productions, for Channel 5’s . The 10 x 60’ drama is set in the fictional BPS Bridewell women’s prison where the inmates are many things – drug users, robbers, killers – but most of them are survivors. Many of the inmates here come from dark, hopeless places, but the friendships these women form can ignite real flames of hope which warm the heart. These are their stories.

The highly anticipated Line of Duty Season 5 (5 x 60’ and 1 x 90’ – also available: Seasons 1-4: 22 x 60’ and 1 x 90’) from the makers of Bodyguard, follows two years on from the events of series 4. Stephen Graham (Save Me, Boardwalk Empire) and Rochenda Sandall (Black Mirror) join the cast as John Corbett and Lisa McQueen – two pivotal figures in a deadly organised crime group. Known to have links with corrupt police officers and suspected to be under direct command of the shadowy figure known only as ‘H’, Corbett and McQueen become persons of interest to AC-12, following a deadly chain of events.

Based on the award-winning, globally successful film of the same name, The Dead Lands: The Series (8 x 60’) offers a new chapter, set in a time before time, in which warrior Waka Nuku Rau must find honour in a land ravaged by the supernatural. He’s aided by a young woman, Mehe, who’s determined to make sure he succeeds. And for the spirits standing in Waka’s way, he’s got a message: Tell the dead I’m coming.

From acclaimed film-maker Micah Gallo (Wick - short), alongside award-winning special effects master Dan Rebert (True Blood), Itsy Bitsy (1 x 95’), a horror thriller feature from Strange Vision Productions, weaves a character-driven story of responsibility, love and loss set against a terrifying backdrop of chilling scares and monstrous legends. Starring Golden Globe®-winner Bruce Davison (X-Men), Denise Crosby (The Walking Dead) and Elizabeth Roberts (Criminal Minds).

Also showcasing at MIPTV are returning series, including:

Frankie Drake Mysteries Season 2 (10 x 60’ and 11 x 60’ in Season 1) follows Toronto’s first female private detectives as they solve cases the police can’t, and other detective agencies won’t. In the second season, the year is 1921 and the world is undergoing massive change. Jazz is on the turntables as communism and prohibition are being hotly debated over hard drinks in speakeasies. This new age calls for a new kind of detective… A CBC original series, Frankie Drake Mysteries is developed and produced by Shaftesbury in association with CBC and UKTV.

Slasher Solstice (8 x 60’ – also available: Seasons 1 & 2: 16 x 60’). When a young man is brutally killed in front of his apartment building, he is surrounded by witnesses who do nothing to help. One year later, terror strikes the apartment complex once again when someone seemingly seeks bloody revenge on the neighbours and witnesses who did nothing during the murder. Developed and produced by Shaftesbury.
