LIFEGUARDS All Zoombezi Bay lifeguards are trained and certified through the Ellis & Associates, Inc.’s international lifeguard training program, which they must pass before obtaining a license. Lifeguards also attend a pre-season department training, as well as weekly in-service training throughout the season. Lifeguards are audited on a daily basis. Zoombezi Bay aims to employ 230 certified lifeguards every season. The number of lifeguards required is based on the number of “zones” assigned to the attractions (rather than on the number of visitors). Every attraction is validated through a zone of protection program and at least one lifeguard is required for every zone assigned to an attraction. On average, Zoombezi Bay staffs more than 60 lifeguards a day in its zones of protection around the waterpark. ZOOMPASS ZOOMPASS allows guests to reserve their spot in line and enjoy other areas of the park until their turn is up. NEW FOR 2021: ZOMBIEzi Bay Fear has a new name.
