Donoghue Duo” to Compete in 2019 London Marathon on Behalf of Help for Children FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “DONOGHUE DUO” TO COMPETE IN 2019 LONDON MARATHON ON BEHALF OF HELP FOR CHILDREN Long-Time HFC Supporters Adam and Carole Donoghue Will Run to Raise Funds for the Fight Against Child Abuse London, UK, January 15, 2019 – Help For Children today announced that on Sunday, April 28, 2019, the dynamic “Donoghue Duo” – Adam and Carole Donoghue – will compete in the prestigious 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon, running over 42 kilometers in support of Help For Children UK (HFC) and its efforts to fight child abuse. Help For Children UK is the UK affiliate of Help For Children, an international foundation established in 1998, that is dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse in 13 cities throughout seven countries. As the Donoghues' named charity, HFC UK will receive any funds raised while they train and prepare for the Marathon this coming spring, and as with all of HFC’s branches and affiliates, all money raised in a community stays in that community. Since the inception of Help For Children UK in 2006, HFC has distributed more than £1.5 million to local charities that prevent and treat child abuse in the London metropolitan area. In 2018 alone, £250,000 in HFC grants funded child abuse prevention and treatment programs at the following organizations’ – Abianda, Family Matters, Home Start Lambeth, Imara CIO, Marie Collins Foundation, Mulberry Bush School, and Safer London. To show your support of the Donoghues' journey over the next four months of marathon conditioning, please click here and consider giving generously so that HFC can continue to protect and heal children in the UK. Adam Donoghue is a long-time supporter of HFC and serves as a partner in the Investment Management group of Maples and Calder's Irish practice, where he heads the Irish funds team in the firm's London office. Maples and Calder is a global sponsor of Help For Children, which was founded and is today still supported by the alternative investment community. Carole Donoghue, Adam’s wife, is a consultant radiologist at the Royal Brompton and Chelsea & Westminster hospitals. Her work in radiology has been acknowledged with a Radiologic Society of North America Roentgen Fellow Research Award in 2013 and a Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland medal in January 2018. 1 Adam and Carole have previously completed multiple marathons in New York (pictured below in the 2011 New York City Marathon), Chicago, Berlin, Dublin and Galway. Dodgy ankles and the arrival of their twins brought a halt to their distance running, but they're coming out of retirement for one last hurrah for Help For Children. About Help For Children Help For Children (HFC), a not-for-profit established in 1998, is a global foundation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse through the support of the alternative investment community. Founded as Hedge Funds Care with deep roots in the hedge fund industry, today HFC is the alternative investment industry’s leading charity, with support from the hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, and real estate investment sectors as well as the financial services industry. Since its inception, HFC has funded more than $51 million in grants to organizations in seven countries across four major impact areas of child abuse prevention and treatment – decreasing risk, strengthening families, reducing trauma and building individual strengths. HFC, in partnership with the alternative investment community, is committed to making the world a safer place for children. • The October Club Handicap Stakes Sponsored by Winterflood Securities
Redburn is proud to support The October Club & WellChild redburn.com Good evening. I’m sorry I can’t be with you tonight, but I did want to thank you for supporting WellChild this evening, a charity which I am very proud to serve as Patron, and one which is very close to my heart. WellChild supports parents of children with complex medical conditions – by helping them to care for their child at home. This is so important to give the whole family a quality of life they deserve. But this is not easy. The reality of caring for your child at home means that thousands of families have to deliver complex medical routines to keep their children safe, every single day. Without the skills and confidence to deliver this care, many families will end up in hospital for months on end. Too many others will hit crisis point. This is why your support is so important. Money raised by The October Club will help to establish a network of WellChild Better At Home Training Units across the UK. These training units will give parents across the country a place to learn; a place to acquire the skills and confidence to care for their children safely at home. This will make a big impact on thousands of lives. And so, on behalf of the many families you will be helping for years into the future – Thank you. I hope you have a wonderful evening. Citadel Global Equities is a proud supporter of The October Club citadel.com N BEHALF of The October Club Committee, a great introduction for the WellChild team and I am delighted to welcome you to this, our provided an update from MS Trust on their progress O31st Dinner.
