The first and second chapters deal with the properties of the networks created by interlock- ing directorates, while the third and fourth chapters with the so-called Efficient Market Hypothesis. Connecting these two topics is the notion of a stylized fact (also called a universal property) which is not accounted for by the currently stablished theory. The first chapter shows that the existence of a very well connected dominant community is not explained by the traditional preferential attachment models. In addition, it is also shown that the patterns of accumulation of board positions by single individuals observed in empirical data cannot be explained by a simple random binomial procedure.

Abstract The Lumiere brothers came over to India in 1896 and exhibited some films for the benefit of publics. D.G.Phalke is known as the founding father of Indian film industry. The first Indian talkie film Alam Ara was produced in 1931 by Ardeshir Irani. In the age of mooki films, about 1000 films were made in India. A new age of talkie films began in India in 1929. The decade of 1940s witnessed remarkable growth of Indian film industry. The Indian films grew well statistically and qualitatively in the post-independence period. In the decade of 1960s, Bollywood and regional films grew very well in the country because of the technological advancements and creative ventures. In the decade of 1970s, new experiments were conducted by the progressive film makers in India. In the decade of 1980s, the commercial films were produced in large number in order to entertain the masses and generate income. Television also gave a tough challenge to the film industry in the decade of 1990s.

Small businesses like Vtheirs are tough to run and have all the challenges of providing quality and value to customers. From their carts and stalls they derive incomes on which their families depend. It is estimated that there are 10 million vendors in the country. It would be impossible to replace so many livelihoods. efforts to push them off the streets are misconceived and a vio - coVer storY lation of their rights. Vendors also add colour and diversity to our cities and towns with their range of wares and food items. They are essential to an street business urban mosaic. It is fortunate that a central law passed in 2014 bestows recognition on india has an estimated 10 million street vendors who earn a living vending.
