St. Margaret’sSt. Margaret’s EpiscopalEpiscopal Church Church 12663Baton Perkins RougeRoad, Baton, LouisianaRouge, Louisiana 70810 Mission Statement Seeking and Serving HIM, we are Renewed to follow the call of Christ, as we share the Gospel in our Community. When one of us says, “I go to St. Margaret’s,” our eyes get a little brighter and our voices and faces lift. The person to whom we are speaking can tell that “going to St. Margaret’s” is something special, and that something special happens among the people there. We are a small congregation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana currently searching for our eighth Rector. Over the next few pages we summarize our history, current status and plans for the future. We hope you find these pages informative, and perhaps you too might discover some of the same specialness that we find at St. Margaret’s. A We are seeking a person of knowledge and faith, with life experience Our Current Ministry and Short-term Goals Include St. Margaret’s Story dates back to its founding in 1973, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is a story of a small group of people founding a church in a developing urban area. We invite you to read an overview of those early years on our website. Most of who we are today, however, has transpired in just the last several years. Like many churches, St. Margaret’s has enjoyed periods of growth and has suffered decline over the years, along with the ebb and flow of our local economy. Inadequacy of our physical plant and our growth during times of expansion, inhibited our ability to retain new members during times of decline.

National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center Risk Development and Modeling Branch Homeland Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center Office of Infrastructure Protection In Collaboration with The National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Louisiana Highway 1/Port Fourchon Study July 15, 2011 i This page intentionally left blank. ii Executive Summary Port Fourchon is located at the southern tip of Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The port is the southernmost port in Louisiana and centrally located in a large area of the Gulf that is rich in oil and natural gas drilling fields. Shallow water operations are serviced out of many ports along the Gulf Coast, but servicing for deepwater operations is located at select ports due to the use of larger vessels that are required to support deepwater operations. Due to its central location, deep channels, favorable weather conditions, and size, the oil and gas industry has chosen to concentrate its infrastructure for deepwater oil and gas operations support at Port Fourchon. Roughly 270 large supply vessels traverse the channels of Port Fourchon each day. Normally, about 75 percent of these vessels are servicing drilling rigs. Even though there are many more production platforms that require servicing than there are operating drilling rigs, drilling operations require much more material than production requires. The supplies and materials sent to rigs and platforms from Port Fourchon are brought into the port by the 600 eighteen-wheel trucks that travel on Louisiana Highway 1 (LA-1) each day.

Dear Friends, Thanks to the efforts of many, the region served by the Greater New Orleans Foundation has begun a journey up from hurricane-inflicted disaster toward hope. to improve the of It is not an easy path, nor is it for the faint of heart. At times it feels like a quality yearlong sprint or a marathon that will last many years. But signs are everywhere that you and the great people of southeastern Louisiana are more than able. In for all citizens of our area, this report you will see signs in the hands of children, who are the best reason for life imagining—and creating—a livable, economically strong community. When Hurricane Katrina’s wind and floodwaters subsided, it became clear that generations of leaders and supporters of the Greater New Orleans Foundation had now and for future generations put the organization in a unique position. Now, it would be called upon to play both traditional and completely unexpected new roles in the recovery. Thanks to that history of support, to more than $25 million in new gifts and this is where we belong we are pledges from organizations and individuals, and to the way political, business and nonprofit leaders turned to the Foundation for leadership, the Greater New Orleans Foundation is poised to lead in the years ahead. home to stay in New Orleans We believe that creating a dynamic future for the region depends on three key areas of focus: a skilled workforce; safe, affordable neighborhoods; and great pub- lic schools.
