After the killer, Simon Moore, steals the painting from the museum, the only artifact found, takes the hostage and disappears. It is later revealed that the hostage is his accomplice, and Jerry Ortega (Jorge Garcia) believes the painting is a treasure map. They found the treasure and detained the pair. After a 5-0 treasure restore, the team discovers that the legend has been an elaborate hoax all along. Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) tells Danny (Scott Caan) that he is considering a proposal for Catherine (Michelle Borth). Meanwhile, Gabriel Waincroft (Christopher Sean) holds Kono and Adam captive demanding Adam give up his property. After Adam finally retreats, he and Gabriel go to the bank. Kono manages to escape to stop Gabriel, but during the shootout, Gabriel wounds Adam to secure his escape. When another briefcase is left abandoned at a local news station, Five-0 discovers it contains a flash drive containing a ransom to release serial arsonist Jason Duclair (Randy Couture) or another bomb detonated. Five-0 finds a connection with Tim Richards (John Charles Meyer), an admirer who sent Duclair letters. However, when Richards' house was rigged with explosives, the team concluded that Duclair was collaborating with someone else. Bomber calls on McGarrett to force Duclair's release after a van bomb was discovered outside headquarters 5-0. Duclair leads McGarrett and Danny into the jungle, where it turns out the bomber is Andre Trout (Rob Welsh), Duclair's protégé. Trout actually orchestrated Duclair's release to kill him. McGarrett and Danny stopped him, but both arsonists disappeared. Duclair later calls on McGarrett to turn around, as well as reveal the PO box trout. There, McGarrett finds a glass of ashes, which means Duclair killed Trout and cremated his body. Meanwhile, Adam is released from the hospital and is recovering with Kono, but they are quickly tracked by Yakuza. After identifying John Doe as Miko Moesley, the team discovers he was in a money printing operation with Philip Kanae, who is also found dead. It is later revealed that the killer is another accomplice, Aaron James (Michael Corn). After he was arrested, he is dropped from custody by Gabriel, who works with him. Meanwhile, Danny gets his nephew Eric Russo (Andrew Lawrence) to work with a crime lab, and Jerry is given his own office in the basement. Crane's death was directed against a hunting accident and money was given to him by art thief Gerard Hirsch (Willie Garson), who admitted he had previously had contacts with Moesley. Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) and Lou Grover (Chi McBride) search Crane's house and find photos of Laura Ioane, daughter of Crane's past love. Turns out she was kidnapped, and Crane was supposed to give her a ransom. If crane's death escapes, Hirsch has to pay a ransom to Laura's kidnapper. After the kidnapper is killed in a car chase, the team discovers that he was the son of Crane's maid. The team will arrest her and get Laura back. Meanwhile, Adam is captured by Tom Bishop (Steve Bastoni) of the Yakuza and is forced to torture Aaron James for placing Gabriel. Harper was prepared to admit that he embezzled money to pay money to protect the Samoan mafia, and the team believes they silenced him. Chin later finds a connection to 808 Road Warriors, a local biker gang suspected of truck robberies. After a five-0 capture attempted robbery, the team discovers that the gang has a missing biker, Tyler Kaheaku, a friend of Harper's daughter Aubrey (Spencer Locke). It found Harper actually embezzled money to fund his secret second family. HPD's chasing Tyler and Aubrey on the highway, but Tyler's killed when his bike crashes into an SUV. They later suspect Charles Oakman, a embalming technician in a house of mourning. It is revealed that Oakman is trying to restore a lost love that looked similar to the victims. McGarrett and Grover arrested Oakman. Meanwhile, the blood bank is robbed by a local gang while Jerry gives blood. Beard and Kono find thieves took a rare bloodbath and start looking at pet clinics believing thieves are hiding in one and holding people hostage to save their boss's life.

I was singing the Hawaii Five-O theme song - arguably one of the catchiest theme songs in television history, by the way. I've been watching old re-runs of the show lately (obsessively, according to my wife), and that particular night it was the last thing I watched on TV before falling asleep - which only partially explains why I woke up singing. But there's more to it than that, and I think it has something to do with power, leadership, and the way that things work in the real world, especially at work. So, with apologies to Jack Lord (the actor who portrays Steve McGarrett), here's why real life could never be like Hawaii Five-O: - McGarrett is everywhere, all the time. He always arrives moments after the crime has been committed, and is always there at the end when the criminal is arrested. Although most bosses think that they possess the skill of omnipresence, they don't. Thank God, because this would be a nightmare for the employees who know what they're doing and don't need someone looking over their shoulders every minute. - There is only one crime at a time in Hawaii, so it is easy for McGarrett to give it his total attention. No one commits a new crime until the old one is completely solved. How many of us get to deal with only one problem at a time? - McGarrett's staff is unconditionally loyal, trustworthy, hard-working, and efficient.
