It is later revealed that the hostage is his accomplice, and Jerry Ortega (Jorge Garcia) believes the painting is a treasure map. They found the treasure and detained the pair. After a 5-0 treasure restore, the team discovers that the legend has been an elaborate hoax all along. Five-0 finds a connection with Tim Richards (John Charles Meyer), an admirer who sent Duclair letters. However, when Richards' house was rigged with explosives, the team concluded that Duclair was collaborating with someone else. Bomber calls on McGarrett to force Duclair's release after a van bomb was discovered outside headquarters 5-0. Duclair leads McGarrett and Danny into the jungle, where it turns out the bomber is Andre Trout (Rob Welsh), Duclair's protégé. Trout actually orchestrated Duclair's release to kill him. Beard and Kono find thieves took a rare bloodbath and start looking at pet clinics believing thieves are hiding in one and holding people hostage to save their boss's life. Adam kills his captors and escapes, but is quickly captured and sent to Goro, where he learns that his debt has been repaid, Gabriel. The rest of the team finds that he has made suspicious amounts of money in recent months, and Eric finds that the professor is dealing marijuana with student Alfie Ticker (Samuel Larsen). It is revealed that Alfie killed the professor to make his cut, with the pistol he uses on a local scale. Meanwhile, Chin bonds with Inspector Dunn during his stay in Hawaii. Hank Weber was found dead. Kono tells the team that prosecutors do not believe Adam killed two Yakuza members in self-defense and that he is willing to accept a two-year sentence. Foxton is stable from a coma, and who explains about his heart pills, but Steve and Danny conclude that whatever Foxton's wife gave him, it wasn't his heart pill. Brad and Gabriel got beaten, culminating in Brad throwing Gabriel out of the window three stories on the roof of the car. However, Gabriel still manages to escape before a 5-0 can arrest him. Meanwhile, Danny and his mother, Clara, (Melanie Griffith) are being questioned by the FBI about Matty, but Danny inseduces that it was all a trap for Danny to admit that the team used five-0 resources for illegal purposes. They determined that the patient was the real target, as Max shows them the X-Rays, where a small object has been inserted in his skin recently. Vic was actually a mule, carrying a flash drive to Hong Kong for someone else, Chris Dalton (Michael McMillian), an NSA employee. Dalton's girlfriend, Anna Novick (Olga Fonda), is a murderer like she is a Russian spy. 5-0, HPD and SWAT surround Dalton and Anna, but Anna asks reinforcements to attack 5-0 while she and Dalton fled. However, Dalton slips away from her and captured 5-0. At headquarters, Dalton reveals the disc contains the identity of secret spec ops around the world. Dalton's boss (Derek Webster) comes in at 5-0 and informs McGarrett that his name has come in relation to one of the workers he can't reach: Catherine Rollins. McGarrett and Danny are trying to make sure Dalton's encryption on the flash drive is secure and that Anna can't unlock it without him. However, Anna pumps nerve gas through the air ducts of Iolani Palace, knocking everyone out. He takes Dalton and takes him to a safe house, where he forces Dalton to unlock the drive. McGarrett and the team storm the house and get a drive. When Anna is arrested, McGarrett reveals to Danny that he's angry that Catherine lied to him again. Meanwhile, Danny returns from New Jersey and informs the rest of the team that the man following them is Robert Coughlin (Ingo Rademacher), Rex Coughlin's brother. Beard and Grover relate to Rex's history of Abby: that he tried to put Chin down on anything, and even struck a deal with Gabriel Waincroft on it. They believe Robert's after them because of Rex's death. Abby informs Robert that she doesn't think 5-0 is corrupt, but she's been told to get something to 5-0 and stay undercover, or she'll be fired. Then Steve, Kono and Chin find the murdered remains of real FBI agents. Also, Kono grew concerned when she found out that Gabriel had visited Adam in prison and subsequently offered him a job in expanding his new criminal empire, because Adam understood the way things worked in the world of Yakuza organized crime. Mastermind is revealed to be Michelle Shioma (Michelle Krusiec), Goro's daughter, who seeks revenge for the death of her father at the hands of Gabriel Waincroft. Believing Gabriel and Adam to be in the league together since Meeting Gabriel with Adam a few months earlier, Michelle sends four Yakuza hitmen to finish Adam. Elsewhere, Steve, Danny, Kono, and Lou start following the trail Adam was secretly leaving, finding Garavito's victims, Aquino and Burns, along the way. Toast discovers that the kidnapper, Jacob Holm (Scott Michael Campbell), was jailed for publicizing the illegal activities the law firm worked with. Holm has now become a hacker who tracks those who have dark secrets on the internet and later abducts them, forcing them to confess on a live web channel before letting them commit suicide. Toast manages to track down the safehouse where Holm holds Addison, who manages to escape after her web feed. McGarrett and the team will arrive just in time to save her. Abby escapes her captor and pleads with her former boss, Robert Coughlin (Ingo Rademacher), to help her track down Shioma mole in HPD, which was hampered by a five-0 effort to acquire Gabriel. Brad and Gabriel separated from the others and went to an apartment building where Gabriel apologizes for killing Chin's father. Gabriel also asks Chin to take care of Saar. One of the drug addicts managed to stay alive and bring them to the dealer. The dealer helps Steve and Danny go undercover as drug pilots for Dae Wan (Sung Kang). In the middle of the flight, an unknown helicopter attacks the plane and seriously wounds Steve. Danny breaks cover in order to get instructions on how to land. Danny manages to land the plane on the beach instead of the ocean to save Steve, and it takes five-0 to find the shooter (Yancy Medeiros). After crashing out of the processing plant, Danny follows the big boss as he tries to get away in a scene reminiscent of Chin and Frank Delano's final showdown (La O Na Makuahine), and prepares to shoot him for steve's injury. Danny, however, is delaying killing his boss and heading to the hospital. They'll know Steve's liver tore and he needs a new one quickly. All volunteers, but Danny announces that he and Steve have the same blood supply, and offers their liver. Grace, Nahele, Kamekona, Flippa, Max, Jerry, Duke, Pua, Chin, Kono and Grover are waiting in the hospital when Steve and Danny undergo a transplant.
