Welcome to the 79 th Bike Week at the world’s most famous beach. It is our 26 th anniversary, too. Seems like yesterday. To start off, I want to thank Boot Hill for the cover, Main Street Station for the centerfold, and Russ Brown Attorneys for the back cover, along with all our other advertisers. Without you, we don’t exist. A million thanks. Let’s start off with Twisted Tea. Take a chance on winning this new bike that Cycle Source just built. Tropical Tattoo Chopper Time – best bike show in Daytona. Of course, I am a sponsor. It is a great event to go to. Big Rick and the Troublemakers will be in town, and if the tattoo bug bites, it is a clean and sterile environment to get one. Stay out of tents, trailers and kitchens. Making reservations for Sturgis for the 80th? Steel Pony Campground is a great place to stay and it’s brand new. They are part of the Iron Horse Saloon. Also, No Name City, on a scale of 1 – 10, it’s a 20. Need I say more? The Iron Horse Campground is there also! Warehouse and vendors only – Joe East – see some of his products and his ad. Also, available at J&P Cycles and Johnny’s Rock and Ride. Moving on down, Fox Head Lounge – a nice little ride out of town, and a great biker bar - open all year ‘round. They’ve got Bloody Mary’s every day, and the world famous cheese steak, along with other Bike Week specials. A short ride north is St. Augustine, the oldest city in America and the home of Adamec Harley-Davidson. Brand new – must see. Check the schedule of events throughout the week. And take a look at their bikes. Beaver Bar has live music and ice cold beer and food and vendors. Broken Spoke Saloon – Hair Ball will be playing all week. Bike show, bike show, bike show, did I say bike show?!! Every kind you can think of. Jay Allen is the MC. Cabbage Patch – home of coleslaw wrestling, Wednesday and Saturday. They also have Big Engine, the Budweiser Clydesdales, Battle of the Baggers and more. Skips Boots – you’ve got to see this place. It is the biggest store of Western Wear you have ever seen. It is across from the Speedway start/finish line. Skip has done an awesome job of this facility. On to Main Street Station – they’ve got Buck Cherry, Saving Able, Big Engine, Crash Rocket – just to mention a few of their bands. Miss Twisted Tea Bikini Contest. See the ad for complete listings and times. Iron Horse Saloon – Uncle Kracker, Colt Ford and of course David Allan Coe. See the ad for complete details. Boot Hill Saloon – across from the cemetery. Better to have a seat here than across the street! Just saying. Check out the band schedule. What a great lineup. Looking for a new place to live here, either full or part time? Plantation Oaks of Ormond Beach. See ad for Halifax Urban Ministries bike give-a-way. Your donation goes for a great cause. Seminole Harley, is only a few miles out of town. Worth the ride. Bobby Friss, Biker Olympics, Sound Theory will all be there, just to mention a few. Great place to ride. Great prices. Randy’s Cycle Shack, if you need your bike fixed, oil change or tires. Randy is the man to see. Daytona’s newest adult entertainment club – Cheetah’s of Daytona Gentleman’s Club located just off the bridge on International Speedway Blvd. First traffic light to the right after the bridge. Hanky Panky’s in Ormond By the Sea. A great ride up A1A. See the map. A nice neighborhood bar and a great view of the ocean. Debria’s Designs has 3 locations. See the ad. Best stainless steel jewelry around. Hang Dog Saloon has live music with the lead singer of Boston, Tommy of De- carlo Band, and the Trump Pop Up Shop for all your Trump needs. Russ Brown Attorneys. They are bikers themselves. We hope you don’t need them, but if you do they will take good care of you. With that – have a safe Bike Week. Thanks to Linda for just about everything, Mike and the wonderful art and layout; and Thunder for the unique maps. Thanks to Paul for advertising sales. Thanks go to Steve Spoons for the great photography, and to Hank and Jane for getting me out on time! This is very important, please tell every advertiser that you saw them in the Pocket Guide ®. In closing - my usual speech. Don’t be draggin’ and revving your pipes, ‘cause you’ll get a ticket and free room and board. If you’ve had too much to drink, park your bike and get a taxi home. Think before you drink. Don’t leave your drinks unattended. It’s not the bartender’s job to babysit your drinks. Take care of your bartenders and servers. They work really hard to make your vacation unforget- table. Have a safe and great Bike Week! Remember – rubber side down, shiny side up.
