horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, account wagering and exchange wagering in the State of New Jersey. =The Commission is tasked with ensuring the integrity of the sport and the wagering thereupon through efficient oversight of all racing and wagering related entities and activities. The Commission also acts to promote the health and safety of the racing participants. 'T „ '. ~ New ersev Racing Commissioners Pamela J. Clyne, LCSW, SAC Chairman Appointed 2012 -Present ' Appointed as Chairman April 17, 2014 Pamela J. Clyne is a resident of New Egypt in Ocean County, New Jersey where she resides with her husband, retired Superior Court Judge'of the Ocean Vicinage, the Honorable James D. Clyne. Pamela and her husband own a 25-acre horse farm and are lifelong equine enthusiasts. Pamela has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and is certified in several behavioral healthcare disciplines. Formerly, Chairman Clyne was the Executive Director of Reindancer Therapeutic Riding Center where she worked with a group of individuals with a wide range of special needs. Chairman Clyne practices behavioral healthcare for veterans suffering from PTSD and children suffering from autism. Some of Chairman Clyne's practices involve therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted psychotherapy. Anthony T. Abbatiello Appointed 2006 —October 19, 2017 (died in office) Anthony T. Abbatiello's love for horses resulted in neaxly 60 years of devoted service to the racing industry. Commissioner Abbatiello was a co-founder of the Standardbred Breedexs and Owners Association of New Jersey and served as its president for 28 years. Commissioner Abbatiello was instrumental in establishing the Meadowlands Racetrack and was responsible for bringing the Hambletonian Stakes to the Meadowlands. A national leader in the harness racing industry as well, Commissioner Abbatiello served as chairman of the board of directors for the United States Trotting Association and was chairman of its Finance Committee. He was an officer of the Harness Horsemen International, chairman of the board of the American Horse Council in Washington, DC, and a trustee of the Harness Racing Museum &Hall of Fame. Commissioner Abbatiello received many accolades in recognition of his lifetime of service to the harness racing industry, including the Harness Horse International's Man of the Year Award, New Jersey Horse Council's Horseman of the Year in 1982, the 1988 Clem McCarthy Good Guy Award, the United States Harness Writers Association's 1992 Proximity Award and selection to the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame. In 2006, the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey renamed the New Jersey Classic for Abbatiello. He was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame on July 2, 1995. In addition to his many accomplishments in the harness racing industry, Commissioner Abbatiello distinguished himself in service of his country as well, becoming a decorated war veteran during the Korean War. Commissioner Abbatiello demonstrated courage under fire and 2 received numerous individual and unit citations including the Combat Infantry Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star for Valor, two Purple Hearts, the Presidential Unit Citation, a Korean Campaign Ribbon with Four Battle Stars and the Korean Service Medal. During his time serving in Korea, Commissioner Abbatiello rose to the rank of Captain. Sadly, Commissioner Abbatiello passed away on October 19, 2017 at the age of 89, bringing to a close a life and career filled with great accomplishments and meritorious deeds. Mange nasjonale og internasjonale trav- stjerner har vokst opp i ”grønne” Rogaland med mildt klima, gode beiter og ”snøfrie” vintrer som gjør at unghestene har muligheter for å gå ute hele året. Det gir optimale oppvekstforhold for unghester. Hardere konkurranse, økt profesjonalitet og krav om at unghestene skal prestere tidligere stiller nye og strengere krav til hestenæringen. Det gjelder også omsetningsleddet, salg og markedsføring av hester. I Rogaland Travforbund har en arbeidsgruppe jobbet med dette de siste to årene. Resultatet av arbeidet har endt opp med at vi også i år kan innbyr til salgsvisning for unghester i forbindelse med Forus Open helgen for 1- og 2. åringer på Forus Travbane for andre året på rad. Målsettingen med salgsvisningen er at oppdretterne i fylket skal ha en flott arena der de stolt kan vise frem de gode Rogalandshestene. Vi håper og tror at arrangementet vil være med på å legge grunnlaget for en fremtidig auksjon av unghester i Rogaland. Hestene oppstalles i hall B på banen, der mulige kjøpere kan besiktige hestene i fred og ro. Hesten vil så enkeltvis bli presentert av speaker i banen utenfor Rex’en Restaurant etter stigende katalog nummer. Vi legger også opp til at 2-åringene kan presenteres foran vogn i banen.     Bjerke travbane Fredag 6. september og lørdag 7. september. Forord Välkommen till årets Klasseløpsauksjon 2013 Över 160 hästar skall auktioneras ut under två dagar. Detta visar på att våra uppfödare tycker att just klas- seløpsauksjonen är en viktig marknadsplats för att sälja sina uppfödningar. Det skall bli mycket spännande att se var snittpriserna kommer att hamna. Förra året såg vi en ökning av snittpriserna på kallbloden. Positivt var de höga snittpriserna på varmblodsstona. Precis som 2012 går varmbloden under klubban på fredag kväll och kallblod samt fullblod på lördag kväll. Som vanligt är det hög kvalitet på åringarna oavsett vilken ras de tillhör. Klasseløps helgen på Bjerke presenterar högklassig travsport med Derbyt och Kriteriet som höjdpunkter. Under åren har flera klassika vinnare sålts under auktionen. Det kan mycket väl bli att några av hästarna som säljs nu under fredagen och lördagen i framtiden står där som segrare i ett klassiskt löp. Förra året ökade vi auktionstältet med 300 kvadratmeter. Det blev lyckat så vi har samma yta i år. Minsta bud på hästarna är satta till 20 000 kr vilket är en skillnad mot tidigare då det var satt till 15 000 kr. DNT har arbetat hårt för att utveckla Norsk Trav sport och uppfödning. En del vad som genomförts och planeras kan man läsa om på sidan «Hvorfor eie norskfødt». Under lördag förmiddag bjuder vi på tre intressanta föreläsningar mellan 10.00-12.00 i Kurs och Konferens centrum på Bjerke. Se mer om det på sidan «Program Klasseløpsauksjon» 2013. Nästa auktion i Norge kommer i november då Folkehesteauktionen äger rum.
