Introduction: In view of the MMDR amendments act - 2015, Mineral (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Rule 2015 and Mineral Auction Rule - 2015, Ministry of Mines, DGM, Chhattisgarh identified the block for exploration and to take up the block for G-4 level of exploration under NMET funding. 2. Location of the Block: The block is approximately 44 km north of distt head quarter, Rajnandgaon. The nearest township is Gandai due east of the block. The state highway No. 05 passing through near the block. The block is located in the Survey of India Toposheet No. 64C/14. The coordinates of the corner points of the block is given above (in summary) and covers an area of nearly 100 km2 3. Physiology and Drainage: Physiographically, the district can be divided into three distinct parts (i) Hilly part of the west, (ii) Southern plateau and (iii) Plain region of eastern part. The ranges of Maikal and Mangata are spread in western part of the district. The general slop of the district is towards east. All the river of the district flows in the eastern direction. Sheonath is the most important river and the important tributaries of the river are Amner, Jonk, Ghumariya, Pairi and Hant. 4. Previous work: Various agencies have studied the iron ore deposits of Rajnandgaon district. Detailed geological mapping of this region was conducted by Geological Survey of India in 1964-65 and in the year 1983-84, the Geological Survey of India carried out the survey work in Manpur-Damkasa-Kotri area and estimated the reserves assuming the thickness of iron ore as 30 meters. Mainkar D and Singh SK (1985-86) carried out investigation work during the field season 1985-86, in Rajnandgaon district for Iron ore deposits. During reconnaissance survey 111.57 km2 area mapped on 1:50,000 scale and various lithounits were plotted. Detailed work NMET/Iron/Salhewara/Nagpur/21.05.2018 5 have been carried out in 2.15 km2 area along with detailed mapping and structural studies on scale 1:4000. A Total probable resources of 1.062 M.T. of iron ore have been estimated as given earlier Kanni- dongri contains 0-4945 M.T. of (+ 64% iron contents) iron ore and Kukrel probable reserves they are likely to increase considerably. The other deposits of the area are Dongar bar and jap dongri. Probable reserves of these hills are upto 5 million tones (D.G.M.) - 1980-81) Thus sthe total reserves can be placed around 6 million tones. Pandey JL (1980-81) The Directorate of Geology and Mining, M.P. has located a rich iron ore deposit in the hills of Kanni-Dongri, Jup-Dongri and Dongar-Bor about 15 km in the east of village Boria-Tibbu, district Rajnandgaon. The iron ore deposits occur associated with the Banded Hematite Quartzite (BHQ) of the iron ore series of the Archaeans. It occurs as discontinuous patch and lensoid masses of varying size. The rich ore is dark steel grey in colour, with characteristic metallic lusture on freshly broken surface. The ore is hematite with maximum Fe content of 68%. In all 13 pockets have been delineated. A total of 123 samples collected from insitu deposits and float ore have shown very encouraging result with +68.25% Fe content and very low silica, alumina. On the basis of survey a reserve of around 5.00 million tonnes of high grade iron ore is inferred. From the founder it passed through a succession of chosen disciples until 1879, when the British government recognized the ruler as an hereditary chief and it came to be known as princely state of Raj Nandgaon. Afterwards conferred upon his son the title of Raja Bahadur. The first ruler Ghasi Das Mahant, was recognized as a feudal chief by the British government in 1865 and was granted a sanad of adoption.

Bilaspur (C.G.) Abstract At the very beginning of 17th Century, the East India Company came into India during the reign of Queen Elizabeth of England for the trade purpose and the members of the company were to get more and more benefits through trading. But after the battle of Plassey in 1757, the company’s aim was for ruling not for trading. Slowly the East India Company became the ruling company first starting from Bengal and then later on their aim was to capture the throne of Mughal Baadshahin Delhi. After the revolt of 1857, the power was transferred from the company to British Crown. In this way, from 1857 to 1947, so called the nation India/Bharat was ruled over by the British Crown. Under the both rules Company and British Crown, they followed the policy of divide and rule, drained a lot of wealth from India to England, the people of India became poor to poorer, always paid heavy revenues to the rulers and so on.

The new districts have been created by carving out the existing districts to facilitate more targeted, focused and closer administration. These districts have been named Sukma, Kondagaon, Balod, Bemetara, Baloda Bazar, Gariaband, Mungeli, Surajpur and Balrampur[2] Contents [hide] 1 Background 2 Administrative history 3 Districts of Chhattisgarh 4 References 5 External links Background[edit] A district of an Indian state is an administrative geographical unit, headed by a district magistrate or a deputy commissioner, an officer belonging to the Indian Administrative Service. The district magistrate or the deputy commissioner is assisted by a number of officials belonging to different wings of the administrative services of the state. A superintendent of Police, an officer belonging to Indian Police Service is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law and order and related issues. Administrative history Before Indian independence, present-day Chhattisgarh state was divided between the Central Provinces and Berar, a province of British India, and a number of princely states in the north, south, and east, which were part of the Eastern States Agency.
