We will reopen Tuesday, Blues Brothers Guitarist September 2 American blues guitarist Matthew Tyler Murphy, was a native of Sunflower, Mississippi but got his start in Memphis, Tennessee. Moving to Chicago in 1948, he joined the Howlin’ Wolf Band – playing with many artists including Etta James, Chuck Berry, Ike Turner, Muddy Waters and Memphis Slim. Murphy was considered essential to blues music in Chicago. In 1978, Murphy was approached for a musical project with Jim Belushi and Dan The Washington State of the Black Child Aykroyd, the creators of the Saturday Report Card 2018 Night Live skit The Blues Brothers.
