The National Aboriginal Achievement Awards 1993-2004 Founded and Chaired the national awards system for Aboriginal people in Canada. Each year the production culminates in a network television special. The 2003 production marked the 10 year anniversary of the awards. Executive produced and raised all funds for eleven productions, each at a cost of $3.2 million. In The Land Of Spirits National Tour 1992 Co-composed, produced and directed the first Aboriginal contemporary ballet entitled In the Land of Spirits. The ballet toured four cities with three selling-out, and a profit of nearly $300,000 was achieved. Reviews were favorable with Toronto’s NOW Magazine naming the ballet the second best show presented in Toronto during 1992. Deerhurst Resort - Huntsville, Ontario 1990 Managed the construction of a new theatre for Deerhurst Resort’s $24 million pavilion. Created a $2 million Broadway Musical Revue featuring Shania Twain and hired all cast and crew. In the Land of Spirits Ballet 1988 For the benefit of the Canadian Native Arts Foundation, created the first Aboriginal dance production in Canada. Solely, responsible for raising $1 million, created the story and co-composed the music for full orchestra, hired dancers, crew, artistic and production management, and marketed the production. Premiered at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Toronto Symphony Pops Concert 1987 Organized concert on a personal bank loan that featured Bernadette Peters for the benefit of the Canadian Native Arts Foundation at Roy Thomson Hall. Secured Northern Telecom as sponsor. Negotiated and hired Bernadette Peters, secured Roy Thomson Hall, advertised and marketed the event. Achieved positive reviews and a $67,000 profit. The performance included rising star, Shania Twain. Valdy: Pacific Western Tour 1987 For the benefit of the Canadian Native Arts Foundation, secured Pacific Western Airlines sponsorship. Booked the tour, secured artists, coordinated travel, advertised and marketed the event and tour. Dracula, An Opera 1984 Served as Producer and Music Director for The Israeli-American Opera Company and was responsible for mounting all aspects of the opera, Dracula. Hired all artists; secured hall; rehearsed opera; marketed and advertised the event that was held at the Greenwich House Theatre in New York City. 4 COMPOSER Lost Treasures of the Northwest Coast 2008 Composed original music for half hour educational documentary.
