The Statesmen also got 24 points from 9 @ West Florida* L, 71-54 junior Brett Warner and 14 points, four rebounds and five steals from junior point guard Armon Benford. 13 Montevallo* W, 53-38 w DEFENSE ANCHORS THE SQUAD: Delta State leads the way in the Gulf South Conference in scoring defense, giving up 63.3 points per game. The 15 West Alabama* L, 66-65 Statesmen are ranked 6th in the NCAA in that category. 18 @ Lee University* L, 62-53 w PJ CLIMBING THE CHARTS: PJ Davis continues to etch himself into the Delta State record books. Davis sits in 9th all-time in scoring, tallying 20 @ Shorter University* L, 78-77 (OT) 1,306 career points. He needs three points to pass Alvin Ratliff (1969-1971), who sits in 8th with 1,308 career points. Davis is 6th in career 27 @ Mississippi College* W, 76-64 rebounding, with 731 career boards. Davis has played in every game since his freshman year, totaling 120 games played, which is 3rd all-time. Davis' 195 blocks is a school record and ranks T-3rd all-time in the GSC. He needs one more to pass Jon Rogers (195 blocks for Valdosta FEBRUARY (5-3; 5-3 GSC) State from 2002-2006) to move alone into third place in GSC history.
