French Leader in Billposting Uses Psion Teklogix Ikon FINAL P R E S S R E L E A S E For Immediate Release 20th January 2010 French Leader In Billposting Renewed Its PDA Fleet with Psion Teklogix Ikôn French leader in billposting for pedestrians for 30 years, Insert, manages advertising for 35,500 retail outlets in France, and required a robust, feature rich, PDA for its Field Team carrying out customised advertising field services in city centres. The selected PDAs needed to meet all the criteria defined by Insert as sensitive for their business: scan speed, sturdiness, picture quality, ergonomics, battery life, OS stability and data-rate quality for synchronisation. Christopher Gomez, New Technology and Development Manager at Insert says, “This renewal aims to keep existing functionalities, but also and above all, to develop new services for our customers, particularly by taking pictures of the tasks done using the new snapshot functionality. We also want to communicate faster with our field force thanks to wireless synchronisation, and to secure productivity again thanks to enhanced mobile applications." Insert replaced its PDA fleet with the 436 Ikôn PDA from Psion Teklogix.     How to enter the BooSt superuser mode in the Netbook Pro If you need to change your keyboard layout setting, recalibrate your touchscreen or want to solve NAND errors like the following: NAND block 0x55C: ECCBAD, read failed you need to enter the superuser mode in the Netbook Pro which provides some special commands which are not available in the normal mode. I guess there is a reason for this, because you can cripple your settings and make your Netbook unbootable. To enter, you first need to reset the system with the tiny reset button next to the Enter key. Then you need to connect a resistor between two pins at the bottom of the PCB. The two pins can be found at the connector which connects to the docking station. (See im- age.) (Mind that not all Netbooks Pro seem to have this connector. I tried several values, but something between (missing) docking station connector 33k and 68k seems to be appropriate. To boot into BooSt, press the magic key combi- nation [Ctrl+Shift+D+Esc]. If the resistor is correctly connected, the text ‘BooSt dongle detected’ (See right column) should appear. If the left column is shown, you need to switch it off with [Fn+Esc], check the con- nection and power on with pressing [Esc].
