Zárove ň v sob ě skrývají spole čenské hodnoty a mohou být nástrojem moci. Má práce zkoumá jejich užití v amerických animovaných seriálech Futurama a Ugly Americans. V práci jsem užil metodu zakotvené teorie. Pomocí jejích postup ů jsem vytvo řil osm tematických kategorií užitých stereotyp ů. Ty jsem pak mezi ob ěma seriály komparoval. Krom ě samotného obsahu stereotypního zobrazování má práce zkoumala jednotlivé strategie jejich užití. Klí čová slova: kulturní stereotyp, animovaný seriál, Futurama, Ugly Americans 4 Summary Cultural stereotypes are a common part of interpersonal communication, they help people to understand the world. They also include the social value and they can be an instrument of power. My theses investigates their using in American animated series Futurama and Ugly Americans.

Men nå som vi har flere episoder til grunn for vurderingen synes jeg bildet er litt endret i forhold til det man kunne si etter kun å ha sett den første sesongen. Det gjelder ikke minst de ulike karakterene vi møter på i serien, som nå har blitt utdypet og forbedret - og de passer alle som en bedre inn i den store konteksten enn de gjorde i de tidlige episodene. Bender og Zapp Brannigan er fremdeles blant favorittene, men nå får de da følge av både Leela, Fry og professor Farnsworth. Sjefen over alle sjefer i denne serien er dog fremdeles Dr. Zoidberg - en meget sammensatt og surrealistisk figur som man liksom aldri blir helt klok på. Viktigst er det likevel at de ulike personligheten fungerer godt sammen og utfyller hverandre på en utmerket og til tider genial måte. En annet morsomt innslag i Futurama også mye brukt i The Simpsons) er den aktive bruken av gjesteopptredner fra mer eller mindre kjente personligheter - den mest imponerende samlingen av disse finner unektelig sted i episode 16 - Anthology of Interest.
