BIGFOOT ENTERTAINMENT DIPS ITS FEET in the IDOL SERIES International Entertainment Company Joins Forces with Major Network to Find the Country’S Best Young Talent BIGFOOT ENTERTAINMENT DIPS ITS FEET IN THE IDOL SERIES International entertainment company joins forces with major network to find the country’s best young talent CEBU, PHILIPPINES (July 4, 2006) – In its drive to bring Hollywood to Asia, Bigfoot Entertainment finds an ally in ABC-5, as they co-host the Cebu leg of the inaugural season of Philippine Idol auditions this month. A franchise of the popular TV “Idol” series, Philippine Idol will roll out in Cebu on July 4 to July 10, with the pre-casting taking place simultaneously at SM City, Cebu and at Bigfoot Entertainment’s world class facilities in Lapu Lapu, Mactan Island. The 19,000 square-meter compound at Mactan, Cebu is also home to the campus of the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT), Bigfoot Entertainment’s professional training institution for aspiring filmmakers. IAFT’s One Year Immersion Program and short-term workshops combine theory and application training under the directions of leading Hollywood filmmakers serving as faculty mentors. Bigfoot Entertainment also offers state-of-the-art production services to local and international production companies in terms of filming and post production requirements. “Here at Bigfoot Entertainment, the Philippine Idol judges, contestants and crew will be able to witness first-hand the range of our sophisticated offerings, such as the first NC24-rated sound stage in the country,” explains Butch Maddul, Facilities & Equipment Supervisor for Bigfoot Entertainment. Pre-casting at Bigfoot will be in three of the Bigfoot facilities’ world-class studios, such as: the Automatic Dialogue Replacement (ADR), and Foley Studios, and Soundstage 1. ABC-5’s Perci Intalan, Head of Creatives and Entertainment Productions, exclaims, “It’s great to be collaborating Season 1 of the Philippine Idol with Bigfoot Entertainment, a company of international caliber.” This excitement is echoed by Bigfoot. “We’re thrilled to be working with ABC-5 for the prestigious Philippine Idol and we are hoping that this would be the start of a mutually rewarding relationship,” says Tina Tubongbanua, Talent Director for Bigfoot Entertainment. Cebu winners of the gold card will be flown to Manila to compete with other finalists for the title of Philippine Idol. Bigfoot’s 2-hectare property at SRP will soon house state-of-the-art filmmaking facilities that will equal such famous film outfits as Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios. First phase of the development is the construction of the country’s first Quad Shooting Building, comprising four separate studios and a helicopter pad.     The world's hottest production facilities 12:30 PM PDT 5/6/2010 by Empty, AP Poland’s Alvernia Studios Brazil, Germany and others woo filmmakers BRAZIL Polo Cinematografico de Paulinia In a bold move to swap petrol dollars for film bucks, the small city of Paulinia is completing an overhaul that will reposition it as a major film center, complete with state-of-the-art shooting facilities, schools and theaters. The standout in this ambitious project is a new studio, Polo Cinematografico de Paulinia, which hopes to attract big-budget film productions from around the world while creating new employment opportunities locally. Paulinia, the seventh-richest city in Brazil -- strategically located just 67 miles from Sao Paulo -- funded the entire project, the brainchild of former Mayor Edson Moura. Projected costs are estimated at $60 million - $70 million, which will cover five soundstages, 120 3D animation stations, 3D scanning, a 1,000 CPU render farm and the allocation of more than 5.2 million square feet of surrounding land reserved for building film sets. Effi Wizen, the head of visual effects for Estudios Quanta, a major Sao Paulo-based regional film industry player, believes "a studio of this size will completely change the visual effects field in Brazil, bringing it to a different level." Wizen's company helped make the city's dream a reality by converting factory land once used for producing refinery components into an ultra-modern film production facility. He will now oversee the studio's animation department. The full complex should be running at 100% in the very near future, with the postproduction services completely ready in July and motion capture and the body scanning facilities finished by next year.
