The rear garden is fronted by National Trust land and the house has stunning sea views across to Trevose Head. Foxes sleeps up to 8 people and is open all year. Bookings run from Friday to Friday and we ask that your arrival be not before 3pm and that the house is vacated by 11am. Pets are welcome by arrangement. Downstairs The hallway leads to the sea facing kitchen, dining & sitting room. An attractive working fireplace creates an intimate atmosphere. Double patio doors exit to the garden. There is a sea-facing Family room with double patio doors to the garden and there are two separate toilets, including one with a shower. All rooms are fully carpeted. A new conservatory has been added. (There is one locked room which belongs to the owners ) Upstairs A wide, wooden staircase leads to three sea facing rooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds plus the bath/shower/toilet room. In addition, there is a further twin-bedded room plus an airing cupboard. Again, all bedrooms are fully carpeted throughout. Linen is not provided. Outside The garden, which gently cascades towards the beach, is mainly laid to lawn. Traditional walls of Cornish slate, topped up with Tamarisk trees, enclose this private garden. There is outdoor parking for up to three cars. There are two picnic tables and plenty of room for outdoor sporting activities. The coastal path meanders between the cliffs and the back garden and the road leading to the house is private, with virtually no passing traffic. Its sandy bay lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty next to Constantine Bay. It also boasts one of the cleanest beaches. The coastal path provides some of the most spectacular views in North Cornwall. Water Quality No routine sewage discharge has been identified. Bathing Safety Swimmers should keep to the centre of the beach where lifeguards patrol from May - September, between 10am and 6pm. A natural pool in the rocks provides safe swimming at low tide, children should be supervised at all times. Litter The beach is cleaned regularly during the Summer, intermittently during the rest of the year. Beach Facilities Toilets available, including facilities for disabled people. Plenty of room for outdoor sports Wildlife And Walks Treyarnon Bay is on the North Cornwall Coast Path, which h as some spectacular views to Trevose Head in the north, and Newquay to the south. Just over 1 mile along this road you will pass through a small sharp double bend You will see a sign immediately right (signposted Treyarnon). Proceed for about half a mile and then, at the T-junction, turn left. After about a quarter of a mile the very narrow road winds past a farm and then you will see a turning on the right opposite a small post box. Turn down this lane and follow it until you reach some houses at the end ( you go through a 90 degree bend at the caravan site). HARLYN BAY is situated about the middle of the north coast of Cornwall, near Trevose Head, on the west of the estuary of the Camel, about four miles from Padstow. A number of discoveries of great archaeological importance have been made there and in the neighbouring bay of Constantine on the west; but so far no critical summary of the whole evidence in the light of recent knowledge has been attempted. The fullest account is that by the late Rev. R. Ashington Bullen (3rd edition, published at Harlyn Bay by Colonel Bellers in 19121). The site is one of considerable interest to the geologist as well as the archaeologist; and the scenery is very beautiful. The discoveries will be described in the following order : 1. The cemetery and midden at Harlyn Bay. 2. The midden on Constantine Island and on the adjacent mainland. 3. The midden and medieval remains near Constantine Church. 4. The barrows on the cliffs between Harlyn Bay and Mother Ivey's Bay. 1. The Cemetery and Midden at Harlyn Bay The cemetery was found in levelling the ground for building a house in 190c. The graves consisted of rectangular excavations in the ground, the sides being lined with upright slate slabs. They were covered with other slabs, sometimes inclined at an angle of 45° (but this is probably due to accidental slipping). The arrangement of the graves was fairly regular, and they were orientated to the present magnetic north. The bodies were buried in a crouched position, lying on the side with the knees bent up.

Signature:________________ ABSTRACT Microplastics are a diverse array of contaminants comprising a suite of sizes, shapes, and polymer types. Here I present a body of work investigating the distribution and movement of microplastics through the marine ecosystems via transportation and transformation pathways. First, I look at litter items of beaches of the Cornish coast, demonstrating that 41% of litter was plastics fragments unattributable to source and that this litter was continually re-stocked such that it was always present despite cleaning efforts. Then I took to the seas to conduct sea surface trawls in the North East Atlantic to investigate the floating proportion of marine plastic debris. Microplastics were found in every sample, yet were highly variable in concentration over geographic space ranging from 0.038 to 0.45 particles m-3. Counter to the prevailing trends, plastic fragments (84 μm – 21.8 mm) were the dominant shape (63%), with fewer fibres present.

Perfect for walking and cycling holidays or for the more adventurous, hit the waves and book one of Treyarnon's famous surfing packages. We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in this 68-bed hostel; a 2-storey building that is set directly upon the stunning North Cornish coast. We have ground floor bedrooms. One of these is accessible with accessible an accessible en-suite bathroom. Another bedroom is large enough for a wheelchair user and the bathroom has adaptations. However, it may not suit all users.
