I, Brian Reese, based upon my own personal knowledge, hereby declare: 1. My involvement with Jacksonville Film Events, Inc., (“JFE”) started while working at Apple, Inc. in February 2015 after meeting Niki Logoreci, a coworker at the time and the current JFE Board Chairman. 2. In April 2016, I became more involved with the business operations and development activities of JFE and continue to do so to the present. 3. As Development Director, I have helped build community support for the JFE events and services offered under the JACKSONVILLE FILM FESTIVAL trademark (the “JFF Mark”). Attached in Exhibit 1 are copies of e-mail communications I exchanged with potential venues for services. 4. I was officially appointed to the JFE Board of Directors in 2019 where I continue to provide input on promoting services under the JFF Mark and assist in activities to ensure the continued success of JFE. One of my responsibilities with JFE is to identify venues for holding entertainment and film events as well as seek sponsorships for financial support. 6. I personally assist in developing JFE sponsorship packages to raise funds for services offered under the JFF Mark. I have sent JFE sponsorship packages as seen in Exhibit 2 to potential sponsors since 2016 as seen in the email communications shown in Exhibit 3. 7. My initial activities in 2016 were aimed at hosting a multi-day film event in Jacksonville, Florida in September 2017, however, the coordination efforts took longer than anticipated and the event took place the following year in September 2018. 8. I regularly reach out to local businesses and schools on behalf of JFE to build a consumer base and identify potential volunteers for services under the JFF Mark. An example of this outreach is attached as Exhibit 4. 9. I am personally aware that events, festivals and other film related services under the JFF Mark have been ongoing during my service as a JFE volunteer and Board Member. 10. I am personally aware that JFE owns the JFF Mark and I am not aware of any other individual or entity with ownership rights in the JFF Mark. 11. I have attended numerous events in the local art and film communities to promote the JFF Mark’s services on behalf of JFE. These events have included attending film festivals and events celebrating film such as the WJCT Film and Television Awards. 12. Jacksonville Coalition for Equality Business Leaders Sign on Statement: As a Jacksonville business owner, I am writing to ask you to support the inclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression in Jacksonville’s existing non-discrimination ordinance (HRO). All hardworking people in our community should have the chance to earn a living and provide for themselves and their families. No one should live in fear that they can be fired from a job or be denied housing or basic services because of who they love or how they identify. I believe that all people should be judged on their merits and not on personal bias or stereotypes. It’s time for Jacksonville to join cities like Atlantic Beach and local companies like Florida Blue, Baptist Health, Deutsche Bank, Acosta, Winn-Dixie, CSX Transportation, Carnival, Haskell, UNF and Wells Fargo, in their support of prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression in the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodation. The Commission should also focus on reimbursing full-power television stations that incur expenses directly caused by the repack of another station. Now that the Commission has additional repack reimbursement funds available, the Commission must follow the requirements of the Spectrum Act and adopt rules to finally make broadcasters whole: all reasonable expenses incurred by full-power television broadcasters directly caused by the repack should be reimbursed. • 2021 FAQ WJCT Public Media Jags Parking & Tailgating
2021 FAQ WJCT Public Media Jags Parking & Tailgating When can I have access to my parking space? The parking lot is open three hours prior to kick-off and will be staffed and secured by WJCT Public Media and JSO until 90 minutes after the end of the game. What does WJCT Public Media Parking NOT allow? At WJCT Public Media, we encourage a respectful, safe, and enjoyable tailgating experience. Any behaviors that impact the safety or experience of our clients are strongly discouraged. We ask that you and your guests keep the roadways clear, refrain from throwing footballs and other items, playing music or speaking though public address (PA) systems, using obscenities, burning open pit fires, setting off fireworks or incendiaries of any type, or soliciting donations of any kind. What WJCT Public Media Parking activities are allowed? Other than the aforementioned prohibitions, we encourage our clients to come down early and enjoy a true tailgating experience at WJCT. Grills, Satellite TV set-ups, and cornhole games are all familiar sights. As long as your setup is contained within your allotted space, doesn’t block roads or other spaces and doesn’t break any common sense rules, you’re good to go! Can I purchase parking at the gate? Parking, if available, may be purchased at the gate for WJCT Public Media events. The exceptions are when the season passes for Jags games are sold out and special events like the Florida/Georgia and Gator Bowl game, which are sold to the host committees in advance. We try to keep your informed ahead of time to purchase these events via email.
