World Dementia Leading the Global Action Council Against Dementia Global dialogue on care: Agenda and participants The dementia landscape project 5 February 2021 Organized in partnership with Welcome We are delighted you are able to join us at the virtual World Dementia Council care workshop on 5 February 2021. The world’s first G8 dementia summit was held in 2013 in London, where the international community of top scientists in the field, advocates, industry, researchers of, and providers in, the care sector, and governments committed to improve the lives of people with dementia through research and the develop of treatments, better care, increasing awareness and promoting risk reduction. According to the World Health Organization, around 50 million people have dementia worldwide and the global societal cost of dementia was estimated to be approaching $1 billion. Everyone today living with dementia does need, or will need as their dementia develops, access to care and support. And much of the cost of dementia is the direct and indirect costs associated with care. We hope this decade brings disease modifying treatments that slow the progression of Alzheimer’s and other form of dementia. The first treatments are, perhaps, tantalisingly close. But even when we have the first treatments people with dementia will continue to need care and support until, in the years ahead, until we have disease modifying treatments that can effectively stop the develop of the disease. It is not just that today there are millions of people needing care; until we defeat dementia, in the years ahead there will be millions more. -

Sessions like this would normally take place in Westminster Hall, but due to the suspension of sittings, we have started holding these sessions as an alternative way to consider the issues raised by petitions and present these to Government. We have received more requests to take part than could be accommodated in the 90 minutes that we are able to schedule today. Even with a short speech limit for Back- Bench contributions, it shows just how important this issue is to Members right across the House. I am pleased to be holding this session virtually, and it means that Members who are shielding or self-isolating, and who are unable to take part in Westminster Hall debates, are able to participate. I am also pleased that we have Front-Bench speakers and that we have the Minister attending to respond to the debate today. -

Like many organisations the membership has different views but has one socialist theme on how we should represent the people, take the Party forward and lead the Country. We have recently lost yet another General Election. Labour’s, some would say, knee jerk reaction, has led to a swing to the right after several years to the socialist left under Jeremy Corbyn. Whichever way you look at it, it is the members of the party that choose the policies and it is the Leaders responsibility to deliver on them. The choice of the leader is how to implement them and ignite the country so once again they too can believe in our socialist values. At the time of writing, the world is going through a Pandemic, with tens of thousands of people dying. The Conservative Party is in power with a massive majority and are at their most popular, mainly through implementing Labour’s socialist policies. Now collectively known as frontline staff, the country has come to recognize the worth and value of our NHS, careers and cleaning staff. Political theories have entwined with each other and some would fear it has now become more difficult to distinguish between the political Parties. Once the survivors return to a normal way of life, where we can once again visit our family and friends, go to work, walk in the countryside and visit the seaside, then please don’t let the country return to the old Conservative ways of doing things. -

One of my sons is a student at the school, and as a mother, 3rd Saturday monthly Quarterly 7pm at Communitywise, Gildredge Park. ensuring the safety of children is absolutely a top priority. My background is in teaching, so I 9.30am - 10.30am at Waitrose. Ocklynge. Sunday 9th August know that this is a priority shared by those who work in the school. Working with residents, Next: March 21st and April 18th Next: 2nd April parents and teachers, we have handed in a petition to East Sussex County Council, asking them to look at the issue. Through my work on the Council, I have taken strong action to cut down on the irresponsible trading of strong liquor - something that causes anti-social behaviour and street drinking in our CAMPAIGNING FOR VISIT TO town centre. Local businesses and Upperton residents living in and near the town centre have expressed a real concern about this GORRINGE ROAD issue. CHILDREN TO BE SAFE ON ALLOTMENTS I have been working to a clear plan that will secure a brighter future for my home town, and everybody in it.
