BY BROCK SHERIDAN ______Florida-bred Firenze Fire has been assigned to carry the top weight of 134 pounds on Thanksgiving Day at Aqueduct Race Track as the 4-year-old colt heads a field of nine 3-year-olds and older in the $200,000 Fall Highweight Handicap. The Mr Amore Stable homebred will give away between two and 12 pounds to his rivals, including fellow Florida-bred Happy Farm, in the six furlong Fall Highweight. The Fall Highweight will be the first time Firenze Fire has started outside of Grade 1 company since the son of Poseidon’s Warrior won the $150,000 Run Happy at Belmont Park over Fall Highweight entrant Recruiting Ready on May 11. Since that victory, Firenze Fire has two seconds in those five Grade 1 races including a short nose loss to Florida-bred Horse of the Year Imperial Hint in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Invitational at Belmont Park on Sept. 28 and a runner-up performance behind future Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1)-winner Mitole in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 24. Trained by Jason Servis, Firenze Fire looks to add to his resume already filled with multiple graded-stakes wins with victories in the Grade 1 Champagne at Belmont Park and Grade 3 Sanford at Saratoga as a 2-year-old and winning the Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes at Belmont and the Grade 3 Gallant Bob at Parx as a sophomore. Firenze Fire is out of the Langfuhr mare My Every Wish and is in search of his eighth win in 22 career starts. The bay colt has career earnings of $1,517,600 and is the 8-5 morning line favorite in the Fall Highweight. High On Gin was reunited with jockey Devon Magnon in the My Trusty Cat, with whom they were undefeated in two starts in Louisiana before she went to Keeneland for the Jessamine Stakes (G2). Magnon and High On Gin won a maiden special weight at Evangeline Downs on Aug. 21 in her career debut and then the $60,000 Happy Ticket Stakes on turf at Louisiana Downs on Sept. 7.
