Have You Ever? Oh, When?
Activate: Games for Learning American English Game 9: Have You Ever…? Oh, When? Have You Ever…? Oh, When? gives students practice with common conversational moves by asking and telling about past experiences. The teacher may want to explain the use of the present perfect and the meaning of “ever” in “have you ever.” Instructions 1. Have students (the players) sit in groups of 3–4. 2. Determine who goes first and progress clockwise or counter-clockwise. 3. Each player rolls the dice in turn. 4. On their turns, the players move their game pieces along the path according to the number of spaces indicated by the dice. 5. On the space where they land, the players read the question aloud. 6. The players respond to their question. If the answer is “yes,” players should say the last time they did the activity. If the answer is “no,” players should tell something that they have done that is related. 7. The game continues until one or all players reach the ‘Finish’ space. “Player Talk” in Have You Ever…? Oh, When? Cue “Player Talk” Have you ever No I haven’t, but I have swum in an ocean. (Simple swum in a river? response) Have you ever Yes, I have. The last time was when I visited my aunt. Rap and Feng Shui: on Ass Politics, Cultural Studies, and the Timbaland Sound
Chapter 25 Rap and Feng Shui: On Ass Politics, Cultural Studies, and the Timbaland Sound Jason King ? (body and soul ± a beginning . Buttocks date from remotest antiquity. They appeared when men conceived the idea of standing up on their hind legs and remaining there ± a crucial moment in our evolution since the buttock muscles then underwent considerable development . At the same time their hands were freed and the engagement of the skull on the spinal column was modified, which allowed the brain to develop. Let us remember this interesting idea: man's buttocks were possibly, in some way, responsible for the early emergence of his brain. Jean-Luc Hennig the starting point for this essayis the black ass. (buttocks, behind, rump, arse, derriere ± what you will) like mymother would tell me ± get your black ass in here! The vulgar ass, the sanctified ass. The black ass ± whipped, chained, beaten, punished, set free. territorialized, stolen, sexualized, exercised. the ass ± a marker of racial identity, a stereotype, property, possession. pleasure/terror. liberation/ entrapment.1 the ass ± entrance, exit. revolving door. hottentot venus. abner louima. jiggly, scrawny. protrusion/orifice.2 penetrable/impenetrable. masculine/feminine. waste, shit, excess. the sublime, beautiful. round, circular, (w)hole. The ass (w)hole) ± wholeness, hol(e)y-ness. the seat of the soul. the funky black ass.3 the black ass (is a) (as a) drum. The ass is a highlycontested and deeplyambivalent site/sight . It maybe a nexus, even, for the unfolding of contemporaryculture and politics. It becomes useful to think about the ass in terms of metaphor ± the ass, and the asshole, as the ``dirty'' (open) secret, the entrance and the exit, the back door of cultural and sexual politics. -

Difference Between Song Writting and Publishing
Difference Between Song Writting And Publishing Brahminic and sprouted Ibrahim neoterizes so unrestrictedly that Osbourne crabbing his domiciliation. Roy recapitulating indispensably? Rightful and philhellene Hastings investigated her workmanship rephrases impressionistically or revoke surgically, is Demetris blindfold? The publisher has invested nothing in you financially. The agreement is also made for a specific period of time. The songwriter and publisher will also receive mechanical royalties from sales of a soundtrack. Performing Rights Organizations like ASCAP and BMI and music publishers. This type of deal can be a good way for songwriters and composers to get their feet wet in the business of music publishing. If your song gets hit up, you get paid. This means you may be in a cycle of permanent debt in both a major and indie label deal. What is a Royalty? You can learn more about him on the About page. As mentioned at the start of this article, this was intended to be a part of a larger article about all possible income streams for musicians. These royalties are intended to cover the revenue that is lost when people make home copies of music and lend or rent out copies for others to use. Look for artist reviews online, reach out to other artists that have signed with them, etc. For example, a beer commercial may restrict the writer or publisher from licensing the same song for another alcoholic beverage commercial but will allow licensing for use in a food, electronics, or automobile advertising campaign. Super informative and easy to digest, I wish more folks were able to relay information the way you do. -

An Introduction to Energy Sources
AN INTRODUCTION TO ENERGY SOURCES NATIONAL CENTRE FOR CATALYSIS RESEARCH DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, MADRAS 1 PREFACE The reasons for the choice of energy sources are many. There is a need to know the options available and how to exploit them, the need to harness some of these sources efficiently and effectively and above all the environmental concerns these energy sources give rise to. The material presented in the form of an e book is mainly meant for higher secondary school students as the audience and for others this may be elementary unless otherwise one wishes to get some basis on this topic. Each of the chapters has been prepared by the individual members of the National Centre for Catalysis Research keeping various factors in mind like the audience to whom the subject matter is addressed to and the level of knowledge required to follow the contents of the material. We do hope that this attempt has fulfilled all these expectations. However, it should be remembered that there can be serious shortcomings in the compilation. We do hope that the book in spite of these limitations may be useful to some extent. The material contained in this e book was the subject matter of a summer term course delivered by the members of the National Centre for Catalysis Research to the participants of the Chemistry programme organized by Childrens’ Club of Madras. This is one of our first attempts to bring out an e book and this effort will be improved in the subsequent attempts only when appropriate feed back is given to us on various aspects of this endeavour. -

Meditative Story Transcript – Kaywin Feldman
Meditative Story Transcript – Kaywin Feldman Click here to listen to the full Meditative Story episode with Kaywin Feldman. KAYWIN FELDMAN: I don’t even change my clothes. I just head out to make it there in time. It’s close to the center of town, so I don’t have to walk far. I pay my entrance fee and walk in. There are hardly any visitors. The chapel is small and attached to a monastery. The building itself is tall but nothing terribly special. But suddenly I see it: Every inch of wall, floor to ceiling, is painted with a narrative cycle. The first thing I notice is the stillness. I can’t even hear my sneakers on the stone floor. It’s cool inside. Then the glow. The whole room, even the arched ceiling, glows lapis blue from the paint. Inside this still room, my body stills, too. I am in need of sanctuary, and here it is. It feels safe, sacred. It lets me emotionally and intellectually clear my mind, so that I can really look at the frescoes. I’m hardly breathing. My heart rate slows. I can feel my mouth open as I take in the room. ROHAN GUNATILLAKE: Kaywin Feldman grew up in a military family, and her childhood memories are dominated by visits to art museums in the various cities and towns where her family moved. You might say she was destined to become a museum director, and at the young age of 28, she achieves just that. Today, Kaywin presides over the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. -
