He spoke to Southern Water have been contacted but they says it is a highways drain. He has tried to stick a rod down it but cannot clear the blockage. Water is backing up out of the drain also. Coming southbound from Horsham towards Coneyhurst it is practically invisible until you are right on top of it. Last Tuesday I hit it in a small car – a Ford – and broke both tyres on the left side of the car. I was travelling at around 35 mph at the time. The pothole is at least 200mm deep and has near vertical sides so the tyres stood no chance.
