Purse The exact purse will be set in August 2014, but should be approximately $8 million, with a winner’s prize of over $1.4 million.

METHOD OF PLAY The format for the 2014 PGA Championship will be . Following the first 36 holes of play, the field will be trimmed to the low 70 scorers and those tied for 70th place. These players will advance to compete in the final two rounds. In the event of a tie for first place after 72 holes, there will be a three-hole aggregate score play-off. If the scores remain tied at the conclusion of the play-off, a play-off will take place until the tie is broken.

THE FIELD The PGA Championship field of 156 contestants, perennially the strongest in golf, has featured the most world-ranked players of any major championship since 1994 and the most international players of any U.S.-based major.

Media Coverage The PGA Championship is one of the most widely viewed telecasts in golf, broadcast to 203 countries and territories each year with a household reach of more than 453 million. CBS Sports and will combine for 28 hours of coverage. Additionally, some 1,000 media representatives representing 15 countries will cover the event.

Attendance In order to maximize the spectator viewing experience at the PGA Championship, The PGA of America limits the amount of daily tickets sold each day.
