In this role she oversees the development of policies and programs to attract, retain and foster a diverse and inclusive workforce. Erica is a Diversity Strategist and Consultant that has provided training on cultural competence, unconscious bias, inclusive recruiting and other diversity related matters. Previously, as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion and Senior Career Counselor at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Erica provided leadership and training on matters relating to valuing diversity, cultural competence, and the embedding of effective diversity and inclusion practices for the law school. In that role, she organized pipeline programming with high school and college students, coordinated diversity internships and fellowships, and collaborated with affinity groups, the law school community and legal employers to promote diversity. Erica has a long-standing commitment to diversity and public service, having previous experiences serving as the Director of a legislative advocacy coalition, a Legal Mentor, Community Development Liaison and an Americorp VISTA. She is a member of the Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association, National Association of Law Placement Professionals, Suffolk County Women's Bar, New York City Bar’s Committee on Recruitment and Retention of Lawyers, The Metropolitan Black Bar Association, The National Bar Association and both the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion and the New York City Bar Association’s Diversity Pipeline Initiatives Committee. She has also served on the Boards of several organizations, including Girls Inc., Urban League/Dowling College GEARUP College Preparatory Program, and Suffolk County Community Council. Previously she was employed at the Law Offices of Eric Franz. A Boston College graduate, Erin received her Juris Doctor in 2005 from the American University Washington College of Law. Erin is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. She is admitted to Federal Court in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. Erin is an active member of The New York State Bar Association as an officer of the Young Lawyers Section and a committee chair of the Criminal Justice Section. Erin has volunteered with the Legal Aid Society's Prisoner's Rights Project advocating for medical care, mental health treatment and religious rights for incarcerated individuals. Eisner & Company, LLP [now EisnerAmper], KPMG Peat Marwick, BDO Seidman, and Grant Thornton. She was also a consultant with the MarketForce division of Hildebrandt International before starting her own consultancy in 2000. Carol is a well-known speaker, author and contributor to many periodicals. She is currently a Co-Chair of the Law Practice Management Committee, Westchester County Bar Association; a member of the NYSBA Law Practice Management Committee and an ABA law practice division ‘Active.” She is Past President of the Legal Marketing Association, Metropolitan New York Chapter. Carol is also a Fellow of the prestigious College of Law Practice Management. She graduated cum laude from Smith College, Northampton, MA, received an M.A. in international relations from Hunter College, CUNY and a Ph.D. in comparative constitutional and legal systems from The Graduate Center, CUNY. She did post-doctoral research on the federal court system as an Eli Lilly Fellow at the Bunting Institute of Radcliffe College. Halpert is a self-described “multi-preneur.” Since leaving the corporate finance world in 2001, Marc has started 3 companies, all of which he still operates.
