NATIONAL ROSARY RALLY – PENTECOST SUNDAY People are invited to join the National Rosary Rally taking place in Dioceses throughout England, Wales, and Scotland from 9am to 9pm on Pentecost Sunday, 31 May. In each diocese people are encouraged to pray the Rosary individually, in families, as online prayer groups or parish groups, where possible led online by their parish priests, at any time within the specified hour. As part of the rally, the Leeds Diocese has been asked to pray the Rosary from 6pm – 7pm and we are warmly invited to join in. The Rosary rally will end with a final online Rosary & Blessing from Bishop John Keenan at St. Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley, from 8pm – 9pm. Parish of St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross - Diocese of Leeds - Registered Charity: No.249404 Pope Francis is encouraging Catholics to pray the Rosary in their family homes this month, especially when the pandemic is making us aware of the value of our families and making it possible for us to pray together at home. He encourages simple Rosaries and joining online Rosary initiatives to pray to Our Lady for deliverance from Covid-19 and he has composed two prayers for this intention. Pope Francis’s Prayer: O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Parish of St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross - Diocese of Leeds - Registered Charity: No.249404 PRAYER FOR LIFE O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
