ELECTION 2019: FIND OUT WHERE YOUR LOCAL CANDIDATES STAND ON IMPORTANT LIFE ISSUES. (Please note this notice is from Bishop Marcus.) In the next parliament, it is likely that there will be efforts to introduce changes to the law that would allow abortion on demand, for any reason, up to birth and that there will be further attempts to introduce assisted suicide. Whatever political party you may be considering voting for, please reflect on the importance of human life. PAID WORK OPPORTUNITY WITH THE J&P COMMISSION: Do you want to make the world a better place? Do you have the time and skills to help the Commission in its work of celebrating what people do about social justice issues across the Leeds Diocese and to build awareness of what more people could do? We need one or two self-employed people who are available, on a flexible basis, to do in the region of 500 hours of work per annum. The Youth 2000 & Leeds Trinity University Retreat is a weekend of friendship, prayer and fun, where we come together as a community of young people to grow in our relationship with God with the support of the Church. If you've heard the story of the Lost son, the Father says: 'You are with me always and everything I have is yours.' (Luke 15:31) Whether you've wandered far or just need a weekend at 'home' with the Father, the Leeds retreat is for you! Over the weekend, we will journey together in prayer, friendship, social time & teaching to discover that God is with us always and everything He has really is ours! Further Info: - Anyone between the ages of 16 - 35. If you are under 18 you will need to be accompanied by someone who is over 18. Families are also welcome. - Accommodation will be on the gym floor; you will need to bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, roll mat/air bed. There will be showers available. - Food: The retreat is fully catered (and includes unlimited free tea, coffee and cake) for the whole weekend. Harbour is a prayer group open to all with sung worship, Adoration and prayerful sharing. Come and spend some quality time in prayer and find fellowship and support in this ever challenging world. ST PAUL'S BOOKSHOP, HINSLEY HALL: It seems impossible that Advent will soon be upon us, but it will soon be that time of year again. St Paul's at Hinsley Hall is, as usual, carrying a full range of Advent candles, (including hand held candles and drip shields for use at Carol Services etc.) and also a good selection of devotional books for Advent and Christmas. We also have a nice selection of religiously themed Christmas cards, which it can be hard to find on the high street. Do call in and see us, whether you are a returning customer or a new one.
