Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Yen Chow Street West, Sham Shui Po TRAFFIC ADVICE Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Yen Chow Street West, Sham Shui Po Members of public are advised that to facilitate the footbridge demolition works on Yen Chow Street West, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Yen Chow Street West from 0.00 am to 5.30 am on 16 May 2021:- Road Closure The section of Yen Chow Street West between Cheong San Lane and Tung Chau Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic and the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented in the vicinity of Yen Chow Street West: i. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Tung Chau Street onto Yen Chow Street West southbound. ii. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from going straight on Yen Chow Street West northbound to Sham Shui Po at the junction of Cheong San Lane and Yen Chow Street West; iii. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from going straight on Yen Chow Street southbound to Nam Cheong at the junction of Tung Chau Street and Yen Chow Street; and iv. All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Cheong San Lane westbound onto Yen Chow Street West northbound. Traffic Diversion i. Affected vehicles on Tung Chau Street heading for Yen Chow Street West southbound will be diverted via Tung Chau Street, Chui Yu Road westbound and Sham Mong Road westbound; ii. Affected vehicles on Yen Chow Street southbound heading for Yen Chow Street West southbound will be diverted via Tung Chau Street, Chui Yu Road westbound and Sham Mong Road westbound; iii. Affected vehicles on Cheong San Lane westbound heading for Yen Chow Street West northbound will be diverted via Yen Chow Street West southbound, Sham Mong Road westbound, Tonkin Street West northbound and Tung Chau Street; iv. Affected vehicles on Sai Chuen Road eastbound heading for Yen Chow Street northbound will be diverted via Yen Chow Street West southbound, Sham Mong Road westbound, Tonkin Street West northbound and Tung Chau Street; v. Affected vehicles on an unnamed road heading for Yen Chow Street northbound will be diverted via Yen Chau Street West northbound, Sai Chuen Road westbound, Roundabout, Sai Chuen Road eastbound, Yen Chow Street West southbound, Sham Mong Road westbound, Tonkin Street West northbound, and Tung Chau Street; vi. Affected vehicles on Sham Mong Road eastbound heading for Yen Chow Street northbound will be diverted via Sham Mong Road eastbound, Chui Yu Road eastbound, Nam Cheong Street northbound and Hoi Tan Street; vii. Affected vehicles on Sham Mong Road westbound heading for Yen Chow Street northbound will be diverted via Sham Mong Road westbound, Tonkin Street West northbound and Tung Chau Street; and viii. Affected vehicles on Yen Chow Street West northbound elevated road heading for Yen Chow Street northbound will be diverted via Sham Mong Road westbound, Tonkin Street West northbound and Tung Chau Street. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to drive with utmost care and patience. (Festival Walk) Bound) KMB Route No. After Fu Cheong Estate, Nam Cheong Estate Yee Kuk Street 36A (Lei Muk Shue to divert via Sham Mong Bound) Road eastbound, Chui Yu Road eastbound, Nam Cheong Street northbound and Hoi Tan Street westbound before resuming its normal routing. KMB Route No. After Kweilin Street, to 1. Fu Cheong Yee Kuk Street 12A (Sham Mong divert via Yen Chow Estate Road Bound) Street northbound, Lai 2. Tung Chau Chi Kok Road westbound, Street Park Tonkin Street West southbound before resuming its normal routing. KMB Route No. 18 After Kweilin Street, to 1. Fu Cheong N/A (Sham Mong Road divert via Yen Chow Estate Bound) Street northbound, Lai 2. Tung Chau Chi Kok Road westbound, Street Park Tonkin Street southbound, Tonkin Street West southbound before resuming its normal routing. KMB Route No. 18 After Cheung Sha Wan 1. Fu Cheong N/A (Oi Man Bound) (Sham Mong Road) Bus Estate Terminus, to divert via 2. Nam Cheong Tonkin Street West Estate northbound, Lai Chi Kok 3. Tai Nam Street Cheung Sha Wan 702 (Hoi Lai Estate divert via Cheung Sha 2. Tung Chau Road outside Yat Bound) Wan Road westbound and Street Park Ching House, Yee Tonkin Street West 3. Fu Cheong Ching Court southbound before Estate resuming its normal routing. The bus companies will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangement. .

    PR003/20 17 January 2020 Tuen Ma Line Phase 1 commences service on 14 February 2020 The MTR Corporation is making its final preparation for the opening of Tuen Ma Line (“TML”) Phase 1 on 14 February 2020, commencing services at three new stations, namely Hin Keng Station, the expanded part of Diamond Hill Station and Kai Tak Station. The MTR Corporation will provide special fare promotions for TML Phase 1. Upon the opening of TML Phase 1, passengers travelling on the Ma On Shan Line (“MOL”) will be able to travel to Kai Tak Station in East Kowloon via Hin Keng Station and Diamond Hill Station without the need to interchange. The expanded Diamond Hill Station will become a new interchange station between TML and the Kwun Tong Line, allowing passengers to travel from the New Territories (NT) North and NT East districts to the East Kowloon and Hong Kong Island East districts in a more efficient and convenient manner. Such new routing will help relieve the current peak passenger load between Tai Wai and Kowloon Tong Stations on the East Rail Line. At the end of January, all passenger trains on the MOL will carry out non-passenger trains testing along the new railway section, i.e. between Hin Keng and Kai Tak Stations. Train frequency of the MOL during peak hours will be slightly adjusted to around 3.5 minutes intervals, similar to the operation arrangements upon TML Phase 1 Opening. Passengers are reminded to pay attention to our announcement and arrangements. The timing for the full opening of TML would depend on the implementation of the suitable measures at Hung Hom Station extension and its connecting structures, and is expected to take place in 2021.

But they faced their ordeals courageously, and after the Allied victory came they returned to their home countries to restart their lives, having lost all their possessions." ABOUT THE BOOK This is a unique book, in that for the first time a description has been given of all the Japanese civilian internment camps in China and Hong Kong. Here the story is told of the major events affecting Allied per- sonnel in China following the raid on Pearl Harbor. A brief history is given of each of the internment camps ― the food, the accommodation and experiences of the inmates. Certain conclusions are formed about the failure of the Japanese government to make adequate provisions for the 11,000 prisoners, half of whom were women and children. The defeat of the Japanese could have ended in the wholesale killing of priso- ners, but providentially they were released after the Japanese surrender without any such incidents.
