Im September in Deutschland: Tom Grennan 23.04.2018 Man darf ja schon dankbar sein, dass seit ein paar Jahren avancierte Singer/Songwriter den Erfolg einheimsen, den sie verdienen. Künstler wie James Bay, George Ezra, Tom Odell und natürlich der Mega-Star Ed Sheeran haben dabei neue Maßstäbe gesetzt. Tom Grennan gehört unbedingt in diese illustre Reihe. Der Londoner hat seine ersten Anerkennungen ausgerechnet als Feature- Gast für Chase & Status eingeheimst: Mit „All Goes Wrong“ kam er in die Charts, obwohl Electronica oder Dubstep ursprünglich überhaupt nicht sein Bereich waren. Aber auch zusammen mit dem britischen Rapper Bugzy Malone stellte er auf dem Track „Memory Lane“ unter Beweis, dass Genregrenzen so gar nicht sein Ding sind. Nicht umsonst nennt er Ray Charles, Kendrick Lamar und Amy Winehouse als große Vorbilder. Seine eigenen Songs veröffentlichte er in rascher Folge auf drei EPs – „Release The Brakes“, „Something In The Water“ und „Found What I’ve Been Looking For“ – auf denen er mit seiner charakteristischen Raspelstimme, Cockney- Akzent, ausgefallenen Gesangsphrasierungen und melancholischen Melodien auf der Akustikgitarre überzeugt. Eigentlich wollte Grennan mal Fußballprofi werden, bis er nach einer Schlägerei in betrunkenem Zustand mit gebrochenem Kiefer in die Klinik kam. Das Ereignis hat er anschließend in seinen ersten Stücken verarbeitet und damit die englische Musikpresse und eine immer größer werdende Menge von Fans begeistert.     Grape zverejňuje prvé mená: The Kooks, CHVRCHES, Tom Grennan a Superorganism Festival Grape zverejňuje prvých účinkujúcich desiateho ročníka. Z Británie prídu do Piešťan The Kooks, CHVRCHES, Tom Grennan a Superorganism. „Tento rok zverejňujeme interpretov nezvykle skoro, ale takto to vyšlo a sme veľmi radi. O kapelu CHVRCHES sme sa snažili sedem rokov a nakoniec sa nám to podarili. Rovnako The Kooks sa nám “motali“ v zoznamoch dokonca už od roku 2011. Túto silnú dvojku dopĺňame o talentovaného Toma Grennana a rovnako mladých Superorganism. Ktorí mali vystúpiť u nás už minulý rok,“ vysvetľuje jeden z organizátorov festivalu Ján Trstenský. Britská indie-rocková kapela The Kooks vznikla v roku 2004 v meste Brighton, svoj názov si vybrali podľa piesne Davida Bowieho z roku 1971. Ich prvým hitom bola pieseň s názvom „Naïve“, ktorú napísal spevák a gitarista Luke Pritchard vo svojich pätnástich rokoch – táto pieseň bola súčasťou debutového albumu Inside In/ Inside Out, ktorý dosiahol až na druhú priečku UK charts. Prvá priečka však neušla v roku 2006 jeho nasledovníkovi s názvom Konk. The Kooks sa stali hviezdami nielen na Britských ostrovoch, ale aj na celom svete. Dnes sa stáva táto kapela pomaličky živou legendou, ale pracuje a napreduje ďalej. V roku 2018 vydávajú už svoj piaty štúdiový album Let's Go To Sunshine plný jednoduchých a melodických piesní s nádychom 90's rokov a získavajú si ďalších nových fanúšikov. The Kooks sú teda späť a v plnej sile. Elektro-popová trojica CHVRCHES sa sformovala v roku 2011 v škótskom Glasgowe. V roku 2013 v zozname nových talentov obsadili na BBC Sounds piate miesto a to bol dôvod na spozornenie všetkých agentov a promotérov festivalov.
