JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP FACTS 2016-2017

CASH GRANTS Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Inc. provides a number of cash grants to participating Junior Achievement members. In most cases, the cash grants are a one-time award ranging from $500 to $1000. You must have excellent JA experience to qualify for cash grants. In the case of a cash grant, the funds are mailed directly to the recipient’s school of choice after proof of enrollment has been provided to Junior Achievement. Scholarship applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2017 or hand delivered to the JA office on or before March 15, 2017.

ST. LOUIS AREA JA SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Each year, Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Inc. secures scholarships through area colleges and universities. Many times, these scholarships offset a large portion of the monetary fees for the student. Many scholarships require that candidates meet certain requirements such as GPA, Class Rank, Test Scores, and income. Please contact the schools for their scholarship requirements.

DENNY GIPSON/FONTBONNE SCHOLARSHIP Two (2) $2,500 scholarships per year awarded to qualified individuals accepted for admission to . Students must attend Eckelkamp College of Global Business. Scholarship awards are given to incoming freshmen with eligible Junior Achievement involvement. Students must complete a Denny Gipson Scholarship application provided by Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis and meet all suggested criteria. FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY 6800 Wydown Boulevard, Clayton, MO 63105 Three (3) $2,000 renewable scholarships awarded to qualified individuals accepted for admission to Fontbonne Eckelkamp College of Global Business. Scholarship awards are given to incoming freshmen who participated in the JA Company Program as a senior in High School. A letter of recommendation from a JA staff member/JA Instructor/JA sponsoring teacher stating the student’s involvement with JA is also required. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and at least a 20 ACT score. These scholarships are provided and determined by Fontbonne University.

LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY ATTN: Admissions, 209 S. Kingshighway, St. Charles, MO 63301 Bachelor of Arts, Science and Fine Arts. One (1) - $12,400 Work and Learn Award, both renewable for four years to most deserving student. Several (subject to availability) $5,000 scholarships plus an additional $2,400 Work and Learn Award, both renewable for four years. Student must submit a high school resume and a letter describing their involvement in the JA Company Program. A letter of recommendation from a JA staff member/JA Instructor/JA sponsoring teacher stating the student’s involvement with JA is also required. Must maintain good academic and social standing to renew. Must file FAFSA.

MARYVILLE UNIVERSITY 650 Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141 Over 50 academic programs including Education, Business, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Actuarial Science, Arts and Sciences. Ten (10) - $1500 renewable Awards for high school students graduation in 2017 with at least a 21 ACT and 2.5 or higher cumulative high school GPA. Must be a full-time degree-seeking undergraduate accepted for admission. Freshman only. Must file FAFSA. Please check yes on the Junior Achievement question on the admission application and submit a letter of support from JA.

MCKENDREE UNIVERSITY 701 College Road, Lebanon, IL 62254 Bachelor of Arts and Science in over 28 areas. Two (2) – Four year - $1,000.00 award per year for a total of $4,000.00. Submit a Letter of Recommendation from JA Staff member of the office of Admissions. University. Scholarship deadline – March 1st of the year the student is applying for admission.

MISSOURI VALLEY COLLEGE 500 East College, Marshall, MO 65340 Bachelor of Arts & Science in 25 different areas. Unlimited - $5000 scholarships annually plus $1860 Work and Learn student employment opportunity for resident students only. The last date Valley College will accept scholarship applicants from Junior Achievement is the start of class for that semester.

WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY Box 1089, St. Louis, MO 63130 Bachelor of Arts & Science in 43 different areas, Architecture, Engineering, Business, School of Fine Arts. One (1) – Partial to Full scholarship, based on need, to a student admitted to Washington University in St. Louis. The last date Washington University will accept scholarship applicant’s form is March 1, 2017.
