Collier County and its surrounding communities have a current estimated population 321,520. The Naples Metroploitan Statistcial Area is currently the 15th fastest growing Metrolpolian area in Florida. From 2000 to 2010, the population of the Naples metroplitan statistical area has grown 25 percent. According to the U.S Cenus Bureau, the population of Collier County is projected to reach 449,700 in 2030 with a 40 percent increase over the population in 2010. The Hispanic population makes up 26% of the total population. The area is evenly split between male and female, with the male population increased by 29% and female population increased by 24% from 2000 to 20010. The median age in 2010 was 46.9 years old. More than 80.1 percent of the population is younger than 65 years of age. The prime working age population (20-54) is 38 percent of Collier County’s population. Collier County’s population rises by an estimated one-third during the winter season; this seasonality traditionally lasts from November through April. It is also higher than the state and national average of $44,736 and $50,221 respectively. The area’s top five highest paid occupations are physicians and surgeons, chief executives, general practitioners, engineering managers and podiatrists.
