The Sooners’ score was its third-highest in program history and broke its season high team score for the second-straight week. OU has Twitter @OUGymnastics now won 11-straight Big 12 regular season contests, including six straight over the Cyclones over the past six seasons. The Sooners’ 197.625 team score also marks the fourth-straight meet of 197 or better, a feat Instagram accomplished just twice before by OU, once in 2003 and again in 2012. Taylor Spears was the Gymnast of the Week recipient, while Madison Mooring and Keeley Kmie- Madison Mooring Specialist Georgia ciak were named Event Specialist of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, respectively. Spears picked Haley Scaman Newcomer Georgia up her sixth Gymnast of the Week award and 10th career weekly recognition while Mooring nabbed her Erica Brewer Gymnast ASU Brie Olson Specialist ASU second straight specialist award and third of the season. This is the second newcomer honor for Kmieciak. Taylor Spears Gymnast Denver Oklahoma has swept conference honors five of six weeks this season, winning 17 of 18 honors. The Sooners’ score of 49.525 at Iowa State and 49.475 at West Virginia are the two highest scores of any team in the country on beam. Junior Taylor Spears ranks SOONER SPORTS RANKINGS No. 1 individually with a 9.9 average, one of a national-best four Sooners in the individual rankings along Eleven of Oklahoma’s 13 winter and spring sports with Lauren Alexander (No. 8), Erica Brewer (No. 13) and Madison Mooring (No. 19). are ranked in their respective polls with both men’s basketball and women’s track and field on the cusp of entering the Top 25. Going last is sometimes a good position, sometimes a bad position, and we had five girls hit routines so I knew my teammates had my back and I just had to do my job. It all worked out for me and that was one of the best routines of my career.” “It’s amazing that she came out under this heavy pressure situation as a freshman and performed as well as she did everywhere,” Florida head coach Rhonda Faehn said.“To anchor that bar lineup, to have that fight for every little thing, it’s not only amazing, it speaks volumes for what she will continue to bring to this team in the future, which is exciting.” Faehn had her back to the scoreboard and paid no attention to the other teams competing.

On Saturday night, the Sooners did just that. With a 197.6750, the No. 1-seeded Sooners secured the 2016 NCAA Championship inside Fort Worth Convention Center. The title was their second all-time, with the first coming in 2014. The Super Six appearance was OU’s sixth in the last seven seasons and in each of those, OU has now finished within the top three nationally. The victory made history in the gymnastics world as Oklahoma became the first school in history to win both the women’s and men’s national titles in the same season. Earlier on Saturday night, the men’s team rolled to the 2016 crown in Columbus, Ohio. “What do you say? One of girls this morning, when she woke up, tweeted, ‘It felt like Christmas Eve last night—I couldn’t go to bed anticipating today,’ It turns out that’s exactly what it was,” 10th-year Oklahoma head coach K.J.
