KCT Business School is a hub for nurturing business leaders and entrepreneurs who make an impact on the society. The ecosystem of the Business School promotes managerial excellence, entrepreneurial learning and discovery among the students, who challenge the status quo and change the way business is done and society is evolving. KCT Business School is a vibrant unit of the large conglomerate – The Sakthi group making their presence in industries such as sugars, auto components, power, transport, soya, distillery services, finance, wind mill, dairy and . The flagship Institution of Sakthi group, Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), its magnificent campus and the edifice, enormous reputation, robust departments and more were all born out of the vision and dedicated efforts of the Founder Chairman Dr. N. Mahalingam. KCT, a leading Engineering College in Tamilnadu, offers 13 graduate and 14 masters programs. Institution has 16 academic departments and 9 research centres. About KCT

Kumaraguru college of Technology (KCT), is a private Engineering College started in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group. It is situated in 150 acres in the IT corridor of Coimbatore which in many ways was a front runner in the eco system.

Currently the college, as an autonomous institution affiliated to the Anna University, offers 13 undergraduate (B.E., B.Tech.) and 14 post-graduate (M.E., M.Tech., MCA, MBA)programs of study. The Institution is led by a 16 member Governing Council in the direction of excellence, impact and achievement. At the helm of affairs are Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Dr. M. 03 High Impact Programs 2014-15 Community Engagement Project Batch 2014 – Theme: You can make a difference Community engagement is a broad term for the process of creating and sustaining intentional partnerships that benefit members of the broader community while also meeting learning goals for students.

The objective of the project is to provide opportunities for the students to develop their capacities to become participating and contributing citizens and to prepare them for effective participation in community affairs in a diverse society through promotion of social and economic justice. The project was carried out from February 23, 2015 to March 1, 2015. 05 Strategic New Curriculum Canvas The major initiative in academics in 2014-15 was Curriculum Redesign, which was Imperative 1: developed in tune with the needs of the industry. The process was initiated in February 2014 with the identification of the PEO's & PO's by industry, alumni & Academics students. Benchmarking of the Best practices of Global, National & Regional MBA Programs were done during March-April 2014. The Program Structure & Courses were decided by December 2014, based on the Gap identification done during May- June 2014 .Course content along with credits was finalized by April 2015. Taking in relevant feedback from the Industry & Academic Mentors the curriculum was finalized in July 2015. The Board of Studies approved the Curriculum 2015 on August 13, 2015

06 Learning Made Interesting & Relevant The learning inside the classroom was made meaningful, interactive and interesting through smaller cohorts of 30 in a class. With the learner-centric focus, the classroom sessions included Faculty Learning Sessions (FLS), which were led by the professors and Peer Learning Sessions (PLS), which revolved around group learning and discussion among the classmates. PLS nurtured self learning skills, collaboration, critical thinking, inter-personal and team skills among the students.

Learning happened beyond the text books and articles. Speakers from the industries regularly shared their expertise and thoughts with the students. 54 industry experts from senior management levels visited the campus for interaction. The talks and discussions focused on the application of the theoretical foundations received in the classrooms.

Emphasis was also placed on experiential learning through off-campus assignments and student driven learning through the academic forums. For Industry Immersion Learning, students visited five companies, where they not only learnt the various processes but also interacted and had discussions with the professionals in the company. The visits included The Hindu-Printing Unit, ITC -PSPD Paper Plant, Sundaram Auto Components Limited, DELL and ABT Dairy Products.

As a part of the Cross-Cultural Management Course, students 35 students visited Malaysia for a week in January, 2015 to appreciate the differences and similarities in the culture and social norms between India and Malaysia. The international field trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia included a visit to TAMCO Switchgear (M) SDH BHD and HELP University. These visits and interactions helped the students who do not have any work experience to understand the functions and processes.

A one day symposium on Industry's best practice in Logistics was organized for students of Marketing and Operations. The symposium was jointly organized by KCT Business School and CII Institute of Logistics, Chennai being the Knowledge Partner for this event. The symposium hosted five sessions on contemporary trends in Logistics which included Warehousing for competitive advantage, International Logistics, Channel Design and Strategies, Dynamics of Materials Management and Career Oriented Logistics education.

Reality Learning is a key tool used at KCT.BS to transform the complex courses and topics into engaging, real life scenario based training. Students are exposed either to off-campus or virtual studies assignments.

Students undertook a study in the villages in Coimbatore to understand the impact of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in the weekends during the month of September

To gain hands on experience on the market structure of the local markets and learn about pricing, logistics, storage, demand and supply conditions of markets at grass root level, students analyzed the local Fish market, Flower market, Fruit market, Scrap market, Vegetable market, Wholesale Clothes market, Uzhavar Sandhai, Grocery market and Sunday Clothes market.

The students who specialized in Finance visited Roots, Uthaman & Co, Sakthi Finance, SETC and few more corporate houses and had an interview with the Chief/ Head of Finance Department to understand the role of a CFO in an organization.

Students of Services Marketing supported service organizations and marketed the services by creating/ promoting Facebook page. The organizations included SMS Hotels, Hotel Haribhavan, Pizza Republic, Breakthrough, Connect My Trip, Yolo Restaurant, The Bright Dawn Bakery, Grasp clothing etc.,

Real Time Online Share Trading Program (ROSTP) was initiated in October 8, 2014 & May 27, 2015 for two batches of students. ROSTP is a year-long application-oriented learning initiative in which the students invest Rs.5, 000 of their personal money in the stock market to learn about the stock market, trading stocks, and smart investing strategies.

ANGADI 2014, the third edition of the student organized Trade Fair was conducted in October 2014 on the theme Eco-Chic - Environment Friendly and Trendy. Angadi hones the knowledge and skill of the students in three ways –one, it nurtures the entrepreneurial spirit of the students through investments and running a small business; second, it develops the marketing skills of the students through positioning their products, understanding the competition, promotion schemes and pricing. Thirdly, it advances the event management skills of the students.

Gol Maal –a fake products exhibition was organized where, fake versions of products available in the market for almost every commodity were exhibited by groups of students. The exhibition was conducted on the occasion of the World Consumers Right Day on April 24, 2015. There were fake

08 products from various product lines including electronic devices, clothes, accessories, perfumes, glasses, watches, car parts, books, costumes and even medicines. They educated the participants on how to spot fake products and the negatives of using them.

Several role plays, Focus Group Discussions, Pricing Strategy, Understanding Perception, the Power of Working in Teams, Assembling Products, Marketing Quiz, Consumer Decision Making Process and Debates were conducted to make the learning student- centric.

Projects are part of the curriculum to enhance application of knowledge in real life.

The Internship for a month in a company gave an opportunity for the students of MBA2013 to understand the operations in various functional verticals of an organization. It also gave them an opportunity to see the application of theory learnt in the classrooms.

The Corporate Project carried out by students of MBA2013 provided an opportunity for students to integrate and apply the knowledge they have gained in their MBA program by engaging in a collaborative project with a local business organization or firm.

Students of MBA2014 were engaged in Community Engagement Project in February 2015 on the theme “You can make a difference” and focused on 4 different impact areas: Environment, Education, Health and Economic. The group projects were carried out in association with 17 NGOs for a period of I week (40 hours). Students were involved in 27 projects in various areas like Village Development Program, Village Cleanliness, Skill Training Program for youth, Basic Communication Development Program for school children, HIV Awareness Program, fundraising event for Children affected by AIDS, Rehabilitation Program for Homeless, Crèche Visit by students and helping the children in crèche, Organizing health camps and Drug and Alcohol awareness camp.

The Entrepreneurship Interface Project carried out by MBA 2014 provided the students an opportunity to work with an entrepreneur and understand the business plan. Students use the acquired knowledge to suggest developmental plans for the entrepreneur.

09 Recognition of Star Academic Performers

Mahatma Gandhi Scholarships worth Rs 5.7 lakhs was awarded to 57 students this academic year.

An astute Gandhian, Dr.N.Mahalingam, Founder Chairman of Sakthi Group and KCT has endeavoured to empower students in pursuing higher education. To symbolize this intent, in 2006 he instituted the annual Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship Awards. In 2014, fifty seven students from KCT Business School (Batch 201-2013-15 & 2014-16) received the Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship Awards worth Rs.5.7 lacs.

The graduation ceremony of Class 2011- 13 and 2012-14 of the MBA program of KCT Business School was held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. 116 students of Class 2013 and 156 students of Class 2014 received their MBA Degrees. Prof. Joseph Klafter, President of Tel Aviv University, Israel awarded the Degrees.

† Research Forum meetings are conducted every third Saturday of the month to monitor the progress in the research activities of the Institution. The progress of the research by the scholars are reviewed by the Research Committee

† Swamy D, under the supervision of Dr. V.R. Nedunchezian defended the thesis “A Study on the Shopping Behaviour and Customer's Perception of Selected Modern Supermarket Chains in Coimbatore” and was awarded PhD.

The strength of the Full-Time faculty was increased from 21 to 24 as there was an increase in student enrollment. 6 Assistant professors were recruited along with 1 Lead Trainer and 1 Lead Corporate Relations. The Faculty selection process included application scrutiny, telephonic interview, one-on-one discussion, panel interview and trial lecture in a class.

Five courses were taught by adjunct faculty from the Industry. Adjunct faculty included experts from Reserve Bank of India, Bharathiar University, VMax Consultants, Life Insurance Corporation and Sakthi Finance.

Currently 42% of the faculty are PhD holders and the average experience of the faculty is 15.3 years.

Performance Planning & Development

To promote focused performance, annual plans and goals were deliberated and set at the beginning of the academic year. Faculty teams were engaged in deliberating and planning for 3 days in an off-campus location. The academic centres presented their plans for the year. Based on the Business School's strategic plans, centre's annual plan, the individual goals were set based on mutual agreement.

Through the academic year, faculty were supported to progress towards their annual goals by encouraging them to participate in various knowledge enhancement program. Faculty have participated in 25 Faculty Development Programs & Workshops and 27 Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) have been completed by faculty

12 Peer Learning & Collegiality

† Six Workshops were organized for KCT.BS faculty to enhance their knowledge and skills.

† 15 Knowledge & Information Sharing Sessions were conducted. In these sessions, faculty share capsules of knowledge from various domains with peers.

† Shadow Programs are conducted when a faculty undergoes training at an external location. Sharing knowledge to ensure dissemination of knowledge. 20 such shadow programs were conducted during 2014-15.

Faculty mentoring system also ensured that support and guidance were given to those who aspired to grow. This relationship supported the faculty to become familiar with institutional expectations, networks, and practices that are relevant to productivity and advancement at KCT.BS

The collegiality and team spirit of the faculty were built through pot luck lunches, picnics and dinners. Launch of Colleague Appreciation Program(CAP)-The faculty and admin team at KCT BS, celebrated the joy of appreciation, from November 24- 28, 2014. The event, styled "Colleague Appreciation Program" brought the goodness and helped in demonstrating, trust, recognition, achievement and belongingness the core values of KCT Business School. Centre of Marketing (CoM) led the Christmas celebrations through the "Chris Friend Celebrations week".

Performance Assessment

Annual goals for each faculty were set at the beginning of the academic year. Mid-term review was conducted in December 2014 to assess the progress on the annual goals. The final review (PACE) was conducted in June 2015. The performance assessment includes 4 major areas: Academic Contributions, Research, Professional Responsibilities and Exhibiting KCT.BS values. The review discussions were done by the Director, Centre Head and the HR representative.

Star performers were recognized and rewarded through Annual performance incentives and increments.

The class of MBA2014 was welcomed to the campus in September 2014. Fresher's Learning and Immersion Program(FLIP) was conducted to prepare students to be academically successful by:

† Providing information and resources that will allow students to make informed and appropriate academic plans and healthy social choices; † Creating a welcoming environment that builds a sense of community among the incoming class and connects them to faculty, staff and other students; † Providing a framework for two years of success through the communication of expectations, norms and standards.

A bridge course was conducted for the new class of 2014 to assist in building the gaps in the fundamental knowledge in accounting, mathematics and computers. The bridge course also included presentations on KCT, expectations of the students from the Institution, expectations of the Institution from the students and parents, Campus life, introductions to faculty, staff and seniors and also the policies & procedures of the Institution.

Students of Batch 2014-16 began their II Semester on January 21, 2015 with a 2 day Recharge Camp. The camp was to recap on the concepts learnt in the previous semester and strengthen the KCT BS values amongst the students, to encourage them to set goals & targets for personal development. The Recharge camp gave the students an opportunity to interact with two eminent speakers: Rob Meikle, Chief Information Officer, City of Toronto, Canada and Krishna, Entrepreneur, Family Business Consultant and Leadership Coach

Student Association office bearers were elected and investiture of office bearers was held. The Office Bearers consisting of 15 members in Primary Cabinet and 20 members of Supporting Committees took the oath of office.

14 The Peer Buddy Mentoring program was taken to the next level, with meticulous planning by students of batch 2013 .This initiative focuses on senior buddies & alumni of KCT.BS as mentors for the junior buddies to share their thoughts and experiences. Individual Student support is offered by mentors, who are committed to guide the students through their program.

Students periodically met inspirational entrepreneurs and CEOs of companies and conducted interviews with them to understand their path of growth and achievements. These sessions inspired the students and their experiences are shared with the larger group or published in the magazines & newsletters.

One hundred and eighty students of batch 2014 underwent 24 hours each of rigorous experiential training program on Leadership Development and Alignment at Breakthrough Training Consultants, Coimbatore. The students were trained to develop one's self and equip themselves for the corporate world- they were exposed to a wide range of activities that included, in-door activities to out-door activities.

Unity in Diversity is the catch word of our nation, and in keeping with that notion, the harvest festival of Onam was celebrated by decorating the campus with colorful pookolams by our I MBA Students (Batch 2014-16) on September 4, 2014.

Students of KCT BS commemorated the birthday of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan by showing their appreciation to their faculty. All the faculty & staff of KCT BS were felicitated on Teachers Day with a rose, on September 5, 2014

As part of the World Standards Day celebrations, operations specialization students of 2013-15 batch visited industries of repute in Coimbatore (Sharp Industries, Sakthi Auto Components, Deccan Industries, Rajtharun Textiles India (p) Ltd, Valarmathi Hatcheries to name a few) with an objective to understand the product / process standards being adopted by these companies and to acquire practical insights of the various standards applicable to the industry. Students had an opportunity to study standards like ISO/ DIN/ BIS/ QMS/ EMS being followed for their product / process and their relevance.

World Food Day was celebrated at KCT.BS on the theme “Feeding and Caring “.To mark this occasion a POT LUCK lunch was organized among the faculty team with all homemade delicious, healthy and hygienic food

On International Accounting Day, Centre of Finance organised an “Awareness Camp on Financial Products”. The programme aimed at exhibiting many financial and bank products. People from various financial institutions like LIC, Annamalai capital services, APSAL, DSP BLACKROCK MUTUAL FUNDS displayed their products in our B-School. Financeopedia, a special event was organised on International Accounting for I MBA Students (Batch 2014-16). The objective of the game was to test the knowledge on Financial Jargons.

The women power of KCT BS wanted to acknowledge the support, the dedication and the care the men bestow on them. Towards this end Men's day was celebrated on November 19, 2014. A special thanks and a small memento was presented to the men in the Faculty and Admin teams.

A special lecture session on 'Safety and Health at Work' was conducted for the 2014-2016 batch students by Vandhematharam A Madhavan, Zone Trainer, Junior Chamber International - India, as a part of the World Safety Day Celebrations

† Le Commerciante, the Marketing Forum is a platform to find ideas that can help to nurture the entrepreneurial ambitions/marketing skills of the students into a reality. It also helps to develop the knowledge and skills, by giving them the confidence to make the changes they want.KCT Business School, organized JSW ANGADI 2014- a trade fair by the students and an Exhibition of Fake Products. JSW ANGADI 2014 is the third edition of the trade fair and this year's theme was ECO_CHIC - Environment Friendly and Trendy. This is an event which is ideated, planned and organized by the MBA students of KCT Business School.

† C-SUITE, the HR Forum engaged the students with activities to be imbibed in reality and help the students to navigate the dynamic and fact paced world of HR. The HR forum activities were based on the values of KCT.BS namely Trust, Learning, and Competence and Concept quiz and Bunker - Survival Game

† Beanstalk, the Finance Forum, offers students in-depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decision-making and research skills to enable the students to develop an expertise in the core areas of financial strategies and global corporate financial operations. Towards this end activities like IPL bidding and Debates in Financial topics were conducted.

† Techiez, the System Forum aims at enriching the student experience, by providing engaging and inclusive events that reflect the multitude of their interests through activities which included a Simulation game to suggest online apps tools to enhance productivity and Exhibition of Models on working of Modern technology

† Techops, the Operations Forum is a platform to nurture the student's mindsets and skills so that they master the ability to inculcate the operational principles in practice through activities like Assembly Line Activity, Business Case Analysis, Operations Technical Puzzle, Lean 5s Game, and Production Simulation Games

KCT Business School hosted three events as part of Yugam 2015 – a signature Techno- Cultural event of Kumaraguru College of Technology held on February 12-14, 2015. Best Manager to bring out the best managerial skill to face the business scenario, Best Management Team to make the participants understand the effectiveness of team work in corporate world and Business Quiz which was conducted by well reputed quiz master Prof. Rangarajan.

In February 2015, Sports League organized Dooshra Premier League (DPL) Season 3 in association with Yi, Coimbatore. This is a cricket tournament where Corporate and Business Schools challenged each other on the pitch for the ultimate trophy. 16 were fiercely fighting in the cricket ground to win the ultimate DPL 2015 trophy. Teams from KV Institute of Management Studies, Krishna, SNS, Happy Valley, Jansons, Hindusthan Arts, SREC, Professional, NGP in the college students pool battled it out on February 8,12,13&14, 2015 in Kumaraguru College of Technology grounds. Winners were Steps Sourcing Pvt Ltd from corporate pool; Runners up were Hindusthan Arts College from UG pool & the third position secured by KVIMS from PG pool.

The sports league also organized several sport events for the sporting enthusiasts of the Business School like Cricket tournament for boys and Badminton tournament for girls (doubles & singles) between batch 2014 and batch 2013 students were conducted. A game of football with the current batch of students and KCT BS Alumni was organized. The alumni team won the football match

Environmental League organized a trek to Thoovaanam Falls. 39 Students from Batch 2013 and 2014 along with faculty members enjoyed the trek.

Community League members, students of MBA2014, visited Universal Peace Foundation and an orphanage and spent few hours with the children and senior citizens. The team donated few sacks of rice, eatables like biscuits and gently used clothes. They played with the children and shared thoughts with the elders.

Students also participated in the Clean India Movement (SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN) and were involved in the cleaning of Chinnavedampatti panchayat village. As a part of community league, students of Batch 2014-16 donated old clothes, cereals and eatables to an old age home, Ozanam near Saravanampatti.

Photography League conducted a half day workshop on “BASICS OF DSLR” Ganesh, Commercial & Wildlife photographer was the speaker for the program. The workshop was organized for I & II MBA students' and for the faculty fraternity.

Cultural League conducted Rhythm 2015 an intra department cultural fest for the I MBA students creating a platform to exhibit their talents

The Placement year began with a Placement Competency Assessment Camp, followed by Placement training on Aptitude, Group Discussion, Extempore and effective handling of Interviews as part of the regular placement training. Systematic Assessment Test on the necessary pre-requisites for successfully clearing an interview was conducted for batch 2013-15 and 2014-16. Company Specific placement training conducted at regular intervals has proven to help students clear the interviews with ease. KCT Business School is nestled within the sprawling 150 acres of Kumaraguru College of Technology. 22 Industry professionals were also heavily involved in designing the new curriculum for 2015 batch. 14 professionals were invited to the campus in June 2014 for a brain storming and Focus Group Session, who helped in identifying the Program Educational Objectives and Program Objectives of the MBA program of KCT.BS. The Mentors of the Centres supported in developing the courses to be offered from each centre.

Five adjunct faculty from the industry taught full courses in the III semester and 54 guest faculty from the industry interacted with the students on specific topics from the curriculum. 250 hours of classroom lectures/ discussions were taught by industry professionals, which constitute 27.8 % of the total classroom hours.

Industry professionals have been active participants in our Faculty recruitment process and also in the Student Admission selection process, to give us an industry perspective in terms of satisfying our stakeholder's expectations

Development Programs for Industry

KCT.BS organized several developmental programs for the Industry and generated revenue of Rs. 955580 (Nine lakhs fifty five thousand five hundred and eighty). The programs were either customized for specific organizations or open programs with a diverse participant pool.

Executive Development Programs

An Executive Development Program on Project Management Professional, PMP Certification was organized by the Centre for Operations at KCT Business School for working professionals in service and manufacturing firms. The program objective was to impart knowledge and skills essential for a project manager in successful completion of projects.

KCT.BS is conducting a 6 months Customized Executive Development Course on Management & Leadership for Aries Agro Limited, Mumbai. This course is conducted for 60 pan-India mid career executives of Aries Agro Ltd who are aspiring to grow, learn and progress along the experience curve. The EDP is uniquely designed to the needs of Aries Agro Ltd and is conducted in 3 Modules.

Module 1 – Management & Leadership, a residential program, was conducted at KCT.BS from May 4- 16, 2015 focusing on Fundamentals of Management and Leadership. This module was packed with lectures, discussions, group work, field visits, extra- mural training and experiential learning. The sessions were facilitated by the faculty of KCT.BS and external experts. To build in holistic development for the participants, yoga, meditation, sports and other activities were included

Management Development Programs

The third and fourth edition of the Management Development Program on "Building Excellence at Workplace” for Cameron Manufacturing India Pvt Ltd was held on July 23-29 and December 10-17, 2014 respectively ,with Mr.Niranjan.P, Country Head of CMI inaugurating the program. Special guests included Wayne Finger, VP-HR Houston, Texas and Dawn Brady, Director –HR Singapore during the fourth edition of the MDP. The 23 week long intensive MDP focused on bringing out the best in the participants. There were 30 participants who took part in each edition of the MDP. The sessions revolved around self, interpersonal and organizational context. The facilitators for the program were from across , sessions on yoga, the human face of the organization, workplace ethics etc., were well received by the participants. The week long MDP also had outbound sessions that facilitated the members to work in teams and enhance their working styles

The Centre for Operations organized a Management Development Program on Optimizing Productivity t h r o u g h Le a n S i x S i g m a f o r p r o fe s s i o n a l s i n M a n u f a c t u r i n g o r g a n i z a t i o n s o n December 10 & 11, 2014. The main objectives of the program were to introduce the participants to the concepts of Lean, Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, to provide information on how to select and conduct Lean Six Sigma projects and to introduce the tools and techniques of Lean Six Sigma.

The Centre for Operations organized a Workshop on Supply Chain Management for the Executives in Manufacturing Organizations and faculty members on March 25, 2015. The main objectives of the program were to provide the participants with an understanding of the basic concepts and tools and approaches for managing supply chains and to enable them to develop an awareness of the advancements in the management of supply chains and its implications on profitability of an organization.

Training Programs

There is an urgent need for SME in Coimbatore to implement process improvement in order to survive and prosper in this increasingly competitive business environment. SME's must look inward for ways to become lean, optimize their existing processes and enhance their competitiveness. To this end, Weekend Training Series was conducted in February, 2015 by the Centre of Operations for Supervisors, Operators, Entrepreneurs at COSIEMA Office, SIDCO, Kurichi Industrial Estate, Coimbatore .The program focused on the usage of lean tools which increases productivity, improves quality, eliminates wastage, reduces cost, and enhances customer satisfaction. Through the training module the participants were able to apply the 7 Lean Levers, 5S, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Visual Controls, Cellular Layout, VSM, SMED in their workplace, where large opportunities for reducing costs and increasing efficiencies are easily identifiable. The training program was jointly organized by KCT Business School and COSIEMA

A training program on Excel and Excel in Finance Application was organized for Insurance Professionals by Centre for Finance and Centre for System on September, 20 and 26, 2014. 20 insurance professionals participated in this program.

KCT Business School has taken a progressive and beyond the academics initiative of conducting Soft Skill Training series for 286 employees of Department of Post, Government of India as a part of Project Arrow during the month of February, 2015. The objective of the initiative is to better the customer service skills of the frontline employees of India Post so that the customer's needs are taken care in an efficient manner .These programs were carried out with the broad objective of enhancing the quality of life of postal employees. The current training series for the employees of India Post includes two broad themes - managing the customers and managing the services. The key modules were Building Customer Relationship, Customer Delight, and Product Positioning and Marketing strategies. Various interactive learning-teaching methods were used to make the sessions interesting and relevant.

24 KCT Business School has conducted One day training on Leadership for two batches of IPO & ASP's of India Post on October 31 and December 29, 2014. The training program was inaugurated by Mr. T.Murthy, Chief Post Master General, Tamil Nadu Circle Chennai who was accompanied by Ms. Manju P. Pillai, Postmaster General, Coimbatore and Mr. G. Natarajan, Director Postal Service. The participants enjoyed and learnt various leadership qualities & managerial skills. The platform provided various inputs for the development of behavioral skills. The participants were encouraged to actively participate in various activities of the training program and also to implement the outcomes of the program at the work place.

Professor, Chiba University of Commerce, Coordinator IEEE R10 Asia Pacific Region) Women in Engineering Chair, IEEE Japan Council Women In Engineering Affinity Group visited KCT BS on August 5, 2014 to discuss Research collaboration possibilities with KCT Business School.

An interactive discussion on curriculum, pedagogy, assessments, projects, student support services, student engagement, outreach, career guidance and IT in academics and other academic processes from student perspective of doing MBA , was shared by Ms. Huldah Sheena, a MBA graduate from the Bentley University, USA on January 6, 2015 with faculty of KCT Business School .

Rob Meikle, Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Toronto, Canada addressed MBA students of Batch 2014-16 on January 22, 2015. He spoke on the effective use of Information Technology in Public Governance adopted by the city of Toronto. He emphasized that students should be the change and take charge and lead the way, by using their innate talents

Dr. Gary Sussman, Advisor to Tel Aviv University and Co-Founder Ben Simon Sussman Capital visited the campus on January 25, 2015. Dr. Gary discussed collaboration with KCT Business School like Student Exchange, Executive MBA Programs etc

35 students of II MBA Batch 2013-15 went on an international field trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from January 29- February 3, 2015. As part of the Cross Cultural Management course, students visited Malaysia to study the cultural differences within Asian countries. They also visited TAMCO Switchgear (M) SDH BHD and HELP University

Prof Joseph Klafter President Tel Aviv University, Israel was the Chief Guest for the Graduation Day of KCT Business School on March 28, 2015. Discussions were also held to explore the possibilities of association between KCT and Tel Aviv University.

25 Dr. Vijila Kennedy participated in the 5th Euro-BRICS conference and the Euro-BRICS Young Leaders Summit organized by LEAP/E2020. The Conference was titled “Regional Integration as a Model for XXIst Century MultiPolar Global Governance” held in June 8 – 9, in Helsinki, Finland. She presented a paper on “Student Mobility and Multicultural Global Citizenship”. She also visited St. Petersburg, Russia along with the summit delegates.

To establish an association with the Tel Aviv University, Dr. Vijila Kennedy visited Tel Aviv University in June, 2015 and had discussions with the Deans and Heads of the Departments

Alumni Connects

Two Alumni meetings were conducted during the academic year 2014-15 when the alumni had a wonderful time of reminiscence and networking. A meeting was convened to elect the office bearers as follows, Rajkumar N(MBA 2008-10) –President and Sooriya Pragash N(MBA 2009-2011) – Secretary Alumni Association. Alumni were also involved in several activities of the Business School. 26 Centre of Marketing, KCT Business School conducted two day training for the Strategic Marketing executives of India Post. The training program was inaugurated by the Ms. Manju P Pillai IPS, Postmaster General, Western Region, on August 26, 2014. The Imperative 6: participants learnt various techniques to manage their customers & service. Outreach Participants were encouraged to actively participate in various activities of training program and also to implement the outcomes of the program at the work place.KCT Business School has taken this CSR initiative in-line with the vision of the Chairman of the Institution Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam. A team of faculty and students of MBA program are actively involved in conducting the training program.

A major CSR Initiative "Project Delight Your Passenger (DYP)" - Training Program for 120 Ground Staff, of Airport Authorities of India Ltd was done by the HR center. The Project included identification of training

need for eight departments - Counter staff, Vendors, House Keeping, Trolley Staff, Car Parking Staff, Commercial Staff , Security - of AAI. The project started in May 2014, where a team of five students were a part of the training need identification. A one month internship at the airport helped the team understand the need and a training module was developed for the same. The HR centre members designed the content and the training program based on the approved modules. The entire training program received high appreciation by AAI. The first program for the top level executives of Airport Authority of India was delivered on Leadership on October 1st 2014. The consecutive programs for the various departments were facilitated by the faculty of Centre of HR till December 2014.

27 As a part of the outreach strategic imperative of KCT Business School, a one-day workshop was organized by the Centre for Operations on ʻUse of Computers in School Educationʼ on January 29, 2015 for Government school teachers. The objective of the workshop was to impart computer skills to middle- level and higher secondary school teachers and to enable them to use Internet tools in their day-to-day teaching-learning process. The program was structured with three skill sessions that included topics on e-mail ID creation, Messaging, Social Media, YouTube & Google search, Power-point presentation, MS Excel, Students data uploading, and documentation in TN Govt. website. Hands-on training using computers were given to the participants in the MCA Computer Lab.

On February 4, 2015 Center for Human Resource Management conducted an Entrepreneurship Development training program for 30 SHG Women Entrepreneurs of Shanthi Ashram, as part of the centreʼs outreach activity. The session was planned with 2 activities; one on discussing the Entrepreneurial Skills and the other on a Business plan to produce and promote their products. This program was jointly organized with Shanthi Ashram, Coimbatore .
