On the cover > One of the most challenging maneuvers for a Navy pilot is to land a fighter jet – such as the F/A-18 – on an aircraft carrier. To make these difficult landings easier in all weather conditions, Rockwell Collins is working with the U.S. Navy and other team members to execute the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) Increment 1 program. The first increment for JPALS is focused on sea-based applications. Photo by Oliver Cole, U.S. Navy. Read these stories and more at www.rockwellcollins.com/horizons Web extra feature stories
