Situation Field House is situated in Crocker End, a rural Hamlet in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, renowned for its beautiful rolling and wooded countryside. The property occupies a wonderful edge of village location within half a mile of Nettlebed where there is a general store, garage, deli, furniture shop, pub/restaurant, doctor’s surgery and well regarded primary school. The house is within 5 miles of Henley-on-Thames, which has an outstanding array of restaurants, boutique shops and supermarkets, along with other amenities. The area is renowned for an excellent selection of schools, both state and independent, including nearby Moulsford School (with bus service running from Nettlebed) Rupert House, Shiplake College, Queen Anne’s, Reading Blue Coats and The Oratory. There are a good selection of pub/restaurants in the area including The White Hart in Nettlebed, The Five Horseshoes in Maidensgrove, The Crooked Billet in Stoke Row and The Greyhound in Rotherfield Peppard. The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking and riding with a network of footpaths and bridleways stretching for miles. Boating is on the River Thames at various locations and on the prime stretch of the river, including the Royal Regatta course located at Henley-on-Thames, marina facilities at Hambleden (Mill End), Harleyford, Wargrave and Caversham. There is a train service from Henley-on-Thames via Twyford to London Paddington, and direct trains run to London from both Reading (8.8 miles) taking about 30 minutes, and from High Wycombe to London Marylebone taking about 34 minutes. Heathrow Airport is within an average drive time of 45 minutes and Northolt Private Airport is near J1 of the M40. M4 J8/9 is about 14.2 miles and the M40, J4 is about 15.1 miles away. Field House Field House is a charming detached house, offering excellent family accommodation on the edge of the peaceful hamlet of Crocker End. The house is set in a genuinely rural position without being isolated. The principal house has well-proportioned reception rooms, including a drawing room, sitting room and dining room, with character features including open fire places, window seats and wooden floors. Doors lead from the sitting room/ dining room to the garden terrace. Other rooms on the ground floor include study, utility room and WC. The walk begins with a 2-km tramp across the blissful grassy plain that borders two villages, giving you the company of others at the start and perfect solitude at the heart of the walk. There is one patch of nettles on this walk. With long socks and maybe a stick to swoosh the undergrowth, shorts should be wearable. The existence of non-contiguous designated (catchment) areas is no longer acceptable. Historically, the designated area of Badgemore Primary School covered an area within the town of Henley-on-Thames and also a separate area of villages to the north of the town. To ensure that the designated area of Badgemore Primary School meets current requirements, the Local Authority proposes to amend the designated area: 1. The designated area to be redrawn so that the area within the town joins to the area to the north of the town; and 2. The designated area boundary between Trinity CE Primary School and Badgemore Primary School within the town is to be redrawn to reflect that some addresses are closer to Badgemore Primary School than to Trinity CE Primary School.
