She boasts Sam Houston’s only two shutouts of the season. • In a rain-soaked effort, freshmanAbby DeLozier racked up a career-high 14 saves against Abilene Christian on Friday, Oct. 19. She tallied four in the first half and an impressive 10 in the remaining 45 minutes. • Earning the Kats’ only league award this season, sophomore Courtney Pawlik was named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 21 thanks to standout performances against Utah State (8/16) and Louisiana (8/19). • Coming to the aid of the Bearkat defense, junior Carlota Suarez Crespo suited up and spent nearly 40 minutes defending Sam Houston’s goal at Southeastern Louisiana. Suarez Crespo brought in two saves for the Bearkats out of eight shots faced. • Playing aggressively, Sam Houston State has accumulated 180 fouls this season, which ranks second in the league behind Northwestern State’s 184.
