MÁIRE FLAVIN Soprano RTÉ NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OLIVER GOOCH Conductor This was a project that I have had in mind for a very long time and I am so thrilled that Bill Ackman stepped up to provide the funds to make this happen. Disney movies were, and still are my favourites, so to record some of the classics (all pre 1977) with full symphony orchestra is a dream come true. We all know music communicates in magical ways and having studied psychology at University, I learned how valuable music can be in early intervention for children on the autistic spectrum. I very much hope the royalty profits from this album can help families and children affected by autism. A huge thank you to Bill Ackman and his team in the States; to the wonderful arranger Madeline Pierard, especially for all her late nights; Oliver Gooch for being a guiding light; Jonathan Allen for his immense talent; Anthony Long of RTE for jumping at this chance and allowing me to play with the magnificent RTÉ NSO and of course to Mark of Stone Records for putting up with a mad Irish woman and agreeing to release this album.
