Located within Glasgow’s Easterhouse, Provan Hall has been identified as a key gateway access point to the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. Its primary function will remain as a visitor attraction and community facility, with necessary enhancements to create a high quality offering with better facilities and interpretation within the limitations of its historic and architectural significance and physical size. Independent supporting accommodation is proposed for Provan Hall, though this is outwith the scope of the current commission. The Seven Lochs Heritage Project is a £6.8 million project to develop the Seven Lochs Wetland Park as a place for people, nature and heritage. The project received £4.5 million funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2016 and the Provan Hall Restoration will be partly funded by this. Additional funding will be provided by Historic Environment Scotland’s Repair Grant programme. Provan Hall is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and leased to Glasgow City Council. Upon completion of the restoration project, the building will be managed by the Provan Hall Community Management Trust, under a sub-lease from the Council. Organisations responsible for the development and delivery of the Provan Hall Restoration include (in alphabetical order): Friends of Provan Hall Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (GBPT) Glasgow City Council (GCC), Neighbourhoods and Sustainability Glasgow City Council (GCC), Development & Regeneration Services (DRS) Provan Hall Community Management Trust (PHCMT) Seven Lochs Partnership The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) West of Scotland Archaeological Service (WoSAS) 5 Provan Hall Restoration – Design Statement – External Infrastructure Works Provan Hall Restoration – Design Statement – External Infrastructure Works 3.0 Executive Summary This statement report has been prepared to accompany an additional Planning and Listed Building Consent Application required as a result of design changes during RIBA Stage 3.
