On-Going Series On-Going Series Borgia Rule or Perish - NOW IN 2nd SEASON! It was the age of Da Vinci and Michelangelo, of enlightened creativity and unparalleled intellectual achievement. But it was also the age of Machevelli, of rampant lawlessness, incessant war and unspeakable depravity. At the heart of the world order was the Vatican, the arbiter of conflicts between those kingdoms and empires. And at the center of the Vatican was a man whose quest for power would propel him to seek the ultimate prize, the Chair and Saint Peter. He was a man whose name would become synonymous with ruthlessness, and whose reign as pope would be remembered as the most infamous chapter of the history of the Catholic Church – Rodrigo Borgia. His four children – Juan, the oldest, a prideful, lazy, unscrupulous sexual predator, Cesare, a young man torn between a faith that was not his calling and his dark violent nature, Lucretia, a young girl discovering the secret power that a woman's sexuality holds, and Goffredo, an innocent child who would come of age in a family riven by conflict – would provide Rodrigo with a challenge as great as the political maneuvering of his political and religious rivals. “Borgia” is a one-hour dramatic series that chronicles the rise to power of this Catalan Cardinal and his clan, who would seek to establish a dynasty that would hold sway over the entire world. Though a man of faith, Rodrigo was also in thrall to the pleasures of the flesh. Not only did he have to deal with the plotting and conspiracies of his fellow cardinals and the representatives of the great powers, but he was also locked in a struggle to contain the bitter sibling rivalries that threatened to tear his family apart. “Borgia” is a caldron of intrigue, violence, murder, lust, politics, faith, incest, betrayal and redemption, a story as compelling and enlightening as the age in which it takes place. Title Borgia Genre Drama Category Series Format 24 x one hour Starring John Doman (THE WIRE), Mark Ryder, Stanley Weber, Isolda Dychauk, Assumpta Serna, Diarmuid Noyes, Marta Gastani, Andrea Sawatzki Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel Produced by Atlantique Productions, EOS Entertainment, Canal+ and Etic Films in association with ZDF and ORF 1 King A woman. A cop. The King of the force Sergeant Detective Jessica King – Jess for short – survived eight years in Homicide, three motorcycle accidents, two marriages and every shoe style since the 90s. Will she survive her new job as head of the Major Crimes Task Force? Jess is a powerhouse and a force of nature, a cop who sees things that everyone else misses. She says what she thinks, and she never stops thinking – about a crime scene, about evidence, about the motivations of the suspects. Professionally and in private, Jess faces two challenges: to save her third marriage and to prove that she's the best cop in town. Jess' unit takes over cases already in progress: murder, rape, robbery, gang violence, serial crime – the most volatile and challenging cases that the ordinary police force has failed to solve. Jess can take over any case in the city, whether the original investigating officers want her to or not. She gets to work with a different squad in every case – from the elite Homicide department to the intimidating hulks of Hold-Up, and from the rock-star heroes of the Drug Squad to the shadowy denizens of Organized Crime. “King” keeps throwing curve balls at its tough-talking protagonist, forcing her to make choices in her marriage with fellow cop Danny from the Guns and Gangs squad, and to question her attraction to her darkly brooding partner Derek Spears. The show moves, but it's not jumpy; it's emotional, but not sentimental; it's witty, but bitingly so; it's got action and interaction between Jess and the other protagonists. Title King Genre Crime Category Series Format 21 x one hour, Starring Amy Price-Francis, Alan Van Sprang, Gabriel Hogan Directed by Clark Johnson Produced by An Indian Grove Productions Ltd. For Global / Showcase in association with Beta 2 Heartland A family ranch - a horse whisperer - a fight to save a dream... Set against the majestic splendor of the Rocky Mountains, the Fleming Heartland Ranch is run by the ambitious Lou, her fiery younger sister Amy and their grandpa Jack. While Amy, a talented horse whisperer, is determined to save her dream of a ranch for curing difficult horses, the practical Lou is more concerned with the ranch's deteriorating finances. For Jack, it's no longer just about keeping wild horses under control; he's got to keep his two granddaughters - and their ongoing conflicts - reigned in as well. Jack brings the tough and rebellious Ty back to the ranch. Having barely escaped from city gangsters, Ty now finds his attention split between the horses he's come to love and the stubborn Amy's attraction to the new ranch hand Caleb. Lou is putting all her energy into getting the money together to build an equine corporate retreat on the ranch in the hopes of saving it - despite Jack's doubts. Having begun an emotionally rewarding relationship with Lisa, Jack is better equipped to handle everything that comes - including the continual pestering of their 13-year-old neighbor Mallory... For them all, although life on the ranch brings both joys and sorrows, one thing never changes - their intense passion to keep the dream of Heartland alive... Adventures and misfortunes continue with even more captivating episodes. Determined to learn the truth about Cristina's mysterious disappearance, her bold but irresistibly charming brother Julio infiltrates the hotel in the guise of a footman and begins a life-threatening investigation. It will take him clear across the social strata, uncover shocking truths, and open some doors that were meant to be shut forever. Twenty-six and a half per cent of the Indonesian Gross National Product was derived from the utilisation of coastal and marine resources in 2002.1 Fish and other marine resources make a significant contribution ot the supply of food, employment, and foreign exchange. More than 60% of animal protein consumed by the population is derived from the fisheries sector; and per capita consumption was estimated to be 21.7 kg per year in 2002.2 Employment in the primary fishing sector was roughly 1,805,470 people; and exports exceeded imports by just over US$ 1.6 million in 2000.3 The aim of this paper is to address problems of maritime law enforcement and compliance in Indonesia with particular reference to the management of marine and coastal resources, especially coral reefs.

SEMAPHORE SEA POWER CENTRE - AUSTRALIA ISSUE 8, 2017 THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY ON THE SILVER SCREEN In this day and age, technologies such as smart phones and tablets allow users to film and view video streams on almost any topic imaginable at the convenience of their fingertips. Indeed, most institutions, including the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), promote video streaming as part of carefully coordinated public relations, recruiting and social media programs. In yesteryear, however, this was not a simple process and the creation and screening of news reels, motion pictures and training films was a costly and time consuming endeavor for all concerned. Notwithstanding that, the RAN has enjoyed an ongoing presence on the silver screen, television and more recently the internet on its voyage from silent pictures to the technologically advanced, digital 21st century. The RAN’s earliest appearances in motion pictures occurred during World War 1. The first of these films was Sea Dogs of Australia, a silent picture about an Australian naval officer blackmailed into helping a foreign spy. The film’s public release in August 1914 coincided with the outbreak of war and it was consequently withdrawn after the Minister for Defence expressed security concerns over film footage taken on board the battlecruiser HMAS Australia (I). There was, however, an apparent change of heart following the victory of HMAS Sydney (I) over the German cruiser SMS Emden in November 1914. Australia’s first naval victory at sea proved big news around the globe The Art Brand Productions - The Raider Emden. and it did not take long before several short, silent propaganda films were produced depicting the action.

Introduction Many of us remain unaware that among the members of the American Philological Association (Society for Classical Studies since 2014) during the latter half of the nine- teenth century were people of African and African American descent, for little or noth- ing had been written about them before the American Philological Association published my pamphlet, The First Three African American Members of the American Philological Association in 2001. We have, however, understood for some time that Americans from the late eighteenth century through the nineteenth century were engaged in heated argu- ments about the appropriate type of education needed by Americans in general, and particularly over the needs of the newly-freed slaves after the Civil War. What we had not yet realized was that these were also concerns among members of the black diasporic community itself, which understood that the study of ancient Greek and Latin had long been the intellectual standard
