With JANUARY 1

Theme: Pray that you might desire to know God more intimately.

Philippians 3:10 – “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”

Daily Scripture Reading: Galatians 1

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray that you would spend time in God’s Word every day this year. 2. Pray that you would desire to live according to God’s Word. 3. If you are harboring sin in your life, confess and forsake it and ask God to give you victory in that area. Challenge beginning in the month of January:

Spend at least 10 minutes a day reading the Bible Spend at least 5 minutes a day in prayer. JANUARY 2

Theme: Pray that you might love spending time in the Word of God.

Psalm 119:11 – “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Theme: Pray that you would learn to pray more fervently.

Theme – Pray that you would be set apart from the world, living a life that is fully submitted to Christ.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Theme – Pray that you would grow in holiness and love and that you would adhere to sound doctrine.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 – “So that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.”

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray that you would be a witness to a lost world as you stand firm on the truths of God’s Word in a world that does not believe in those truths.

2. Pray that you would be an example to other believers as you live a life of personal holiness and adhering to the sound doctrines of Scripture.

Theme: Pray for personal, church-wide, and national revival.

Habakkuk 3:2 – “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.”

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray that God would bring about a “fresh revival” in your heart for Him.

2. Pray that God would bring about a “fresh revival” at Cornerstone this year.

3. Pray that God would bring about a true revival in our nation. JANUARY 9

Theme: Pray for unity, peace and genuine love to be displayed among the people of Cornerstone.

Ephesians 4:3 – “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. We thank God for the spirit of unity, peace and love that we have at Cornerstone, pray that that spirit would continue.

2. We all have our “special people” who are difficult to love, pray for those people. ______

Theme: Pray that God would raise up more faithful workers in the church to help us do the work of the ministry.

Romans 12:6 – “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them…”

1. If you are not sure of what your spiritual gift may be, pray that God would reveal that gift to you.

2. If you are not currently serving in the church, pray that God would show you a ministry in which you can serve here.

3. Pray that we would all serve in order to please God, not that we would be recognized by others. JANUARY 11

Theme: Pray that God would grant wisdom, discernment and direction to our pastors and leaders.

1. Pray that you would share your faith with your family and friends.

Theme: Pray for family members and friends who need salvation.

Acts 16:30-31 – “And he brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’”

Theme: Pray for those who have walked away from the faith and are no longer living for the Lord.

Psalm 51:10-12 – “Create in my a clean heart, O God. And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence. And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”

List those family members that you are praying for who “made a profession” of faith but who show no interest in the things of God today. ______

Theme: Pray that Cornerstone will become a church that is committed to prayer, continually seeking God’s direction, help and power.

Isaiah 56:7 – “Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar. For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

1. Pray that the Wednesday night Prayer Meeting will grow.

2. Pray that we would learn how to pray.

3. Pray that we would make prayer a priority in our life and in our church. JANUARY 17

Theme: Pray that we would value every life, including the unborn, as a special creation of God.

Psalm 139:13-14 – “For You formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray that we would be convinced in our own hearts that abortion is sin. 2. Pray that our nation would understand that the unborn, and those with disabilities, are a life that we must value. 3. Pray for those who have had abortions, that they would understand that God loves them and forgives them. 4. Pray for ministries such as First Way Pregnancy Center. 5. Pray for those in our family or congregation who are in Nursing Facilities. JANUARY 18

Theme: Pray for those who have experienced loss: a loved one, a job, a relationship, etc., that they would fnd their strength and trust in the Lord.

Isaiah 26:3-4 – “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting strength.”

1. Pray for someone who has lost a loved one. ______

Theme: Pray for those in our church who are suffering with any kind of illness, disease, or pain.

Hebrews 4:15-16 – “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

1. Pray for those with a long-time illness or chronic pain. ______

3. Pray for someone facing surgery or currently recovering from surgery. ______JANUARY 20

Theme: Pray for those in authority over us, such as government offcials, employers, and others, that they will make decisions that will honor God’s Word.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 – “Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may led a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray for President Biden and Vice President Harris – for their salvation and that they might make decisions that honor God’s Word. 2. Pray for those in the Senate and in Congress 3. Pray for the Supreme Court 4. Pray for Governor Hogan, Justice, and Wolfe 5. Pray for our local officials 6. Pray especially for Mike McKay in the House of Delegates. 7. Pray for your employer or boss JANUARY 21

Theme: Pray for those who are single that they would be holy and set apart unto the Lord, and that they would be morally pure.

1 Corinthians 7:32 – “But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord.

Specifc Prayer Time:

1. Pray for the singles in our church that they would find their fulfillment in Christ.

2. Pray for those who will one day marry that they will seek a spouse who is saved and who loves the Lord.

3. Pray for someone you know who is single:

Theme: Pray for those who are married, that their m a r r i a g e w o u l d c o n s i s t o f l o v e , o p e n communication, truthfulness, grace, accountability and faithfulness.

Ephesians 5:22, 25 – “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

1. Pray for the marriages of the people of Cornerstone, that they would be committed to one another and to the Lord.

2. Pray specifically for someone you know whose is struggling in their marriage. ______

Theme: Pray for our children’s ministry, and that our children will be saved and grow to love the Lord and follow Him all their lives.

Matthew 19:14 – “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’”

Theme: Pray that Cornerstone Baptist Church would be a light to the community, that our people would demonstrate holiness and love, so that Christ might be seen in us.
