Shavington Academy Rope Lane, Shavington CW2 5DH A Cooperative Trust School A Specialist College for Science and Mathematics ‘Together we enjoy, aspire, create & achieve’ Newsletter: Issue 67; February 2016 Tel: 01270 685111 Website: www.shavington.academy Dear parents, pupils and members of the community, Welcome to our February newsletter and to the shortest half-term of the academic year. A Year 11 key date for your diary this half-term is: Thursday 17th March 2016 – Year 11 Parents’ Evening Many thanks to Year 8 and 9 pupils who have made option choices – Mr Hepherd-Hall is currently working on these choices and will contact you in due course. Year 11 pupils are purchasing Leavers Hoodies that can be worn from after the Easter Break. There is also a Talent Show on 27th April 2016 where the new school skirt for Ye4ars 9-11 will be available for pupils to see. We would also like to offer two new opportunities – one for parents and one for pupils. I would like to offer all parents the opportunity to join me in a Parents’ Parliament. The intention is for parents and the school to have an informal opportunity to talk about what is going well in the school generally, and what needs to be addressed. It is not intended to replace Parents’ Evening, individual parent/school meetings, or formal complaints, and I am sure that parents will understand that individual pupils cannot be discussed within a forum such as the Parents’ Parliament. If you would like to get involved, please register your interest with Miss Murphy, at the academy.
