Personnel update - The team is currently at full strength. 554TX Wagg continues as acting sergeant with 977TX moving across to the Heston Central team to perform the same role. 668TX Price has joined he team with 418TX Wilcox on temporary secondment from .

Ward Priorities

The Ward priorities remain constant reflecting the views of the Ward panel members and Officers. The next meeting is scheduled for early June with the Ermine Centre on the Meadows Estate at West being the likely venue.

Priority 1 – Burglary

Burglaries as always, remain a problem across the MPS and during March and April the team conducted 26 visits to victims of crime offering crime prevention advice and reassurance. All neighbouring properties in the area were also visited as part of the cocooning process.

Burglary hotspots continue to be the subject of a daily briefing analysis supported by foot, cycle and mobile patrols tasked to specific areas as and where necessary. Known offenders are to be visited at their home addresses on a regular basis under the Borough offender management scheme.

Priority 2 – Drugs

Under the auspices of Operation Hawk, a drug warrant was executed at Swallowfield House resulting in two arrests for possession of class B drugs. Officers continue to be pro-active across the ward with 52 individuals stopped and accounted/searched during March and April.

Priority 3 – Anti-Social behaviour

During March and April, 14 reported incidents/complaints were received direct via email or from the ASB desk. These ranged from paint smeared on walls to rubbish thrown in gardens. All victims were either phoned or visited with 1 harassment warning issued and numerous words of advice given. Ongoing persistent problems are recorded and regularly monitored.

Priority 4 - Motor Vehicle Crime

Latest figures show 12 recorded offences in March and 17 during April with the majority of these again being theft from motor vehicles. Reactive patrols are being deployed to hotspots.

• 7 Street briefings conducted at various locations across the ward during March and April.

• Bi-monthly Police surgeries at The Hub, and Cranford library.

• All places of worship visited at least once a week.

• Provided cycle trained officers for Operation Protect (Safeguarding students at the end of the school day).

Ward Priorities The Ward Panel set the ward priorities on the 17th April, they are due for review at the next meeting on 3rd July 2013

Community Engagement : This ward retains Forty Two (42) Neighbourhood Watches registered. Police drop in surgeries continue at Springwell School at finish of school day. First Aid courses in partnership with continue to promote basic First Aid skills and knowledge of use of Defibrillator machines.

Performance (January 2013 to May 2013) Four Warrants have been executed under Operation Hawk. These target drugs usage and dealing Three arrests have been made Thirty Nine pieces of criminal intelligence have been received and entered onto Police systems One hundred and thirteen persons have been stopped and asked to account for their behaviour/presence in a particular area Fifteen persons have been stopped and searched, one being arrested as a result of this action.

Priority One – Anti-Social Behaviour (In open spaces) You Said: Deal with Anti-Social Behaviour particularly in open spaces We did: Each report received is logged by the team, contact is made with each victim and a vulnerability assessment is completed if appropriate. Record of Interventions and Problem Solving processes are completed as necessary. Partners are identified and then plans are put in place to rectify the problems. We currently have a parenting order on one of our problem families and four Acceptable Behaviour Contracts are running for young people concerned in anti-social behaviour. In addition site visits have been completed with partners to Sutton Playing Fields with a view to addressing the problems there.

You Said: Deal with Burglary We did: Reduced to number of residential burglaries from 12 in March 2013 to 5 in April 2013. Each victim of burglary receives a visit from one of the teams Community Support Officers. Additional Properties either side, opposite and behind the premises also receive visits where target hardening crime prevention advice is given.

Priority Three – Motor Vehicle Crime (Theft From) You said; Reduce Motor Vehicle Crime (Especially Theft From) We did: Reduced the number of reports from 14 in March 2013 to 9 in April 2013. High Visibility patrols continue by our Community Support Officers Operation CUBO continues on a regular basis focusing on main arterial routes into and out of the ward. Vehicles are seized for uninsured and unlicensed vehicles.

Sergeant Hipkiss reports:

The team is now settled into Hounslow Police Station. The team is still dealing with the issues on the ward and we are working with local partners to resolve

Steering Group

We have successfully recruited new members to the steering group and have organized a meeting for the 11th May 2013 at 13:00hrs. The first meeting will be to elect a chair and deputy chair, we will then outline what the purpose of the group as a whole is and how will identify and vote on ward issues.

Safer Streets

The prostitute issue in Hayes Road still remains an on going issue. The Hounslow community team, regularly patrol the area to deter offenders. We continue to work with other agencies to identify the females that carry on this trade. It is believed that a number of them are from Eastern Europe and may be the victim’s of abuse.

Neighbourhood Watches:

We have been making efforts to promote better security within the community. This is in an attempt to reduce the number of burglaries that the borough has been experiencing. We are actively making contact with all victims of burglaries and speaking with neighbours to access their current security. Our Pcso are making cocooning visits to all our victims.

Priority 1 Drugs

The team and the office are continuing carrying out a warrant a week. We have had a number of successful operations. We are continuing to receive information from the community on addresses of issue in the area. The results seen by them have had a positive effect.

Priority 2 – BURGLARY

Burglary continues to remain an issue for the ward. Since Christmas, the ward has experienced an increase in this crime. The good news is that the burglary issue has reduced. We as a ward have updated the SNT web site with dates for our burglary street briefings. We will be working with our local crime prevention officers who will be available to give advice to the residents first hand.

Priority 3 – Vehicle crime

Vehicle crime still remains a problem. The areas of concern are car parks in and around some of our major stores. We are working with Tesco’s at Bulls

Bridge to start carrying out mini seizure operation in the car park area. This has previously helped in dramatically reducing crime.

Other News

Pcso Littlefield is working towards introducing dog awareness within local schools. This is an issue that has come to notice when she has made visits. This will go a long way to giving advice and information to children. The next CUBO date is the 9th May 2013.

Ward Priorities The ward priorities shown are those set by the Ward Panel on Wednesday 8th February 2012. The next ward panel meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 30th May 2012 at 7pm.

Priority 1) ASB High Visibility Patrols in identified areas. The team continue to patrols areas identified by the Ward Panel and Intelligence to deter behaviour. After school patrols are undertaken by the Safer Schools Officer. Intelligence lead search and arrest warrants are being obtained and executed regarding known offenders.

Priority 2 - Drugs - Supply and Use Intelligence based patrols are carried out, stop and search being employed where evidence exists.

Search and arrest warrants are being obtained to target offenders both for usage and supply. This is an on going objective, warrants are being obtained on intelligence being supplied by the community. Arrests have been made for possession of controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

Priority 3 - Burglary Whilst Burglary remains a problem on the Ward the team will use a variety of tactics Intelligence lead high Visibility patrols continue. Evidence based use of stop & Account and stop & search. Automatic Number Plate Reader type operations continue in areas identified as access routes for travelling offenders. Crime Prevention advice is given to all victims of residential burglary. Information passed via Neighbourhood Link, Neighbourhood Watch and via leaflet drop to raise awareness

Priority 4 OP Cubo (Unlicenced/UnInsured Vehicles)

One operation has taken place in prominent locations within the ward to report offenders. Fifty vehicles were stopped; five (5) cars were seized for No Insurance or Driving Licence;

Community Engagement. The team continue to provide high visibility patrols within the ward on foot, bike and car. One Police surgery have been updated on the SNT web site The team regularly visit the primary and secondary schools providing crime prevention and personal safety advice. The street chance cricket project continues at Heston Community School on Wednesday’s PC Danny McIntosh’s HECRA Judo runs on a Monday evenings at Heston Community School. Due to its popularity sessions are now split into Junior, Senior and females only.
