This email should include minutes or a notice that the Committee is not meeting and thus will have no minutes for that week. Similarly to Senate and Senate leadership, Caucuses and Committees need to have any and all announcements or requests for meeting time during Senate in the Senate minutes document by 6 p.m. on Thursday. If you have nothing to announce for that day, put the word “None” by your bullet. ■ On a more serious note, I want to express my unwavering support for the Black community following the murders of Daunte Wright, Ma’Khia Bryant, and the countless other people of color at the hands of the police in the past year and beyond. As humans, and especially as senators, if you are not speaking about this issue, if you are not actively fighting the systemic racism that is eating our country alive, then you are compliant in the problem. I am especially speaking to the white senators in this meeting. There is an undeniable privilege in this country to being white, and it is our duty to use that privilege to uplift the voices of people of color, to help protect people of color, and to stand with people of color as they fight against oppression. The severity of racism within the United States is caustic; it corrodes every institution, system, and organization that it touches, and we can not allow our Senate or our university to be one of those places where racism goes on unseen, unacknowledged, or unfought. The individuals who have lost their lives at the hands of the police should still be here, and until the systems within this country are changed, justice will not be properly upheld. ● Miscellaneous Business ○ Jacob Petersen - Senate Reinstatement Passed 41-0-1 ○ Resignations ■ FAO ● Tran ■ E&A ● Bertram ■ SBA ● Huerta ● Horowitz ● Martinez ■ CRT ● Mitchinson ● Kaltenbaugh ○ Appointments ■ ORS ● Mitchinson ● Kaltenbaugh ● Martinez ■ APIA Caucus ● ● Amin ● Patel ● Parmar ● Joshi ● Tran ● Magdadero ● Connor ■ Black Caucus ● Gunn ● Anunobi ● Spaulding ● Jones ● Ulysse ● Jacobs ● Wasserman ■ Hispanic/Latinx Caucus ● Bolivar ● ● Huerta ● Bonaduce ● Boisson ● Block ■ LGBTQ+ Caucus ● Kehoe ● Bertram ● Mitchinson ● Forbes ● Bonefont ● ● Wasserman ● McCluskie ● Reid ■ Womxn’s Caucus ● Hall ● Reid ● Anunobi ● Malakoff ● Block ● Layman-Williams ● Bonefont ● Wasserman ● Calvert ● McCluskie ● Boisson ○ Elections ■ Nominations ● CRT ○ Hannah Huerta ● SBA ○ Aliyah Gonzalez ○ Anthony Gioia ○ Luciana Jones ● E&A ○ Will Power ● A&SF ○ Shaun Mitchinson ○ James Evans ○ Jarod Kaltenbaugh ○ Hannah Mittan ● Scholarship ○ Kiya Laymann-Williams ○ Brandon Greenaway ○ Aliyah Gonzalez ○ Nathan Kehoe ○ Xelayris Martinez Ortiz ○ Eliana Jacobs ■ Elections ● CRT ○ Huerta Passed by GC ● SBA ○ Gonzalez Passed by GC ○ Gioia Passed by GC ○ Jones Passed by GC ● E&A ○ Power Passed by GC ○ Anthony’s A-List ■ Senator Spaulding ■ Chair Tran ■ Senator Jones ○ ● Final Roll Call ○ 44/52 ● Adjournment ○ 9:29 p.m.
