Dear Year 9 Parents & Carers,

I am delighted to be writing to you at the end of this term, with an Academy full of students and the sun shining. I truly hope that this is a sign of a bright, and relatively normal, Summer Term to come.

Below are some updates and reminders we would like to share with you:

End of Spring Term and start of Summer Term arrangements The last day of the Spring Term for all students will be Thursday 1st April at 3.20pm. Friday 2nd April is a Bank Holiday and the Academy will be closed.

The start of Summer Term for all students is on Monday 19th April at 8.25am.

Update your contact details and permissions via MCAS We write to you annually to ask you to check and update your contact details for each child to ensure we have the most up to date information. This includes reviewing the consents you have given for your child for things such as photographs. Consents will now be easy to review vis the MCAS app, viewable from Thursday 1st April. Please take the time to check these details over the Easter Holidays.

We are coming to Facebook We want to be able to share information and celebrate good news with our parents/carers easily, we are therefore delighted to tell you that we will shortly be on Facebook. Here we will share reminders, events and good news regularly so that you can effortlessly stay up to date.

We have added a photographic consent form for Facebook on the options, which will appear on MCAS later this week. Please update this box so that we know whether your child’s image can be shared on this platform.

Catch-up Immunisation Clinics Please see the below information shared with us from our local NHS team:

We are offering appointments for any students who did not receive the Teenage Booster vaccination at school. If parents/guardians have not done so already, please complete and email the consent form to [email protected], even if you do not wish your child to have the vaccinations.
