With the accession of Montenegro and the second non-member state of the Council of Europe, Argentina, the Fund brought together 40 countries as of December 2019. The Fund is governed by a Board of management composed of national representatives of the member States. Since 1 January 2017, this Board has been chaired by Catherine Trautmann. The aims of the European Film Awards (EFAs) are: to celebrate the excellence and diversity of European cinema to attract new audiences to European film to draw attention to new European talent 1.2. Legal body of the EFAs is the European Film Academy e.V. The executive body is the EFA Board. The board consists of a chair person, two deputy chair persons and up to 16 further EFA Members. 1.3. The 32nd EFAs will be presented by the European Film Academy e.V. and EFA Productions gGmbH on 7 December 2019 in Berlin. 1.4.     Activity results for 2015 Eurimages, the Council of Europe Fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works has 37 member states1. The Fund’s President is Jobst Plog. SOME KEY FIGURES In 2015, the total amount of support granted by the Fund amounted to €24 923 250, distributed as follows: Share of the Support Programme total amount Total amount allocated allocated €22 619 895 was awarded to European producers for Co-production 90.76% 92 European co-productions. 55.76% of projects submitted were supported. €1 253 477 was allocated to the two schemes in the distribution support programme: Distribution 5.03% Scheme 1, support for marketing and publicity expenses; Scheme 2, support for awareness raising of European cinema2. In 2017, the film received support for a cinema release in France, Hungary, Rumania, Greece, Estonia and Denmark Creative Europe Creative Europe is the 7-year European Commission’s subsidy programme (2014-2020) for the promotion of international co-operation in the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors with a total budget of 1.46 billion Euros. Creative Europe consists of three sub-programmes: 1. a MEDIA sub-programme in support of the audiovisual sector; 1. a Culture sub-programme in support of the cultural and creative sectors; 2. a cross-sectoral component, including resources for policy co-operation,cross-sectoral activities and the Financial Guarantee Facility The Financial Guarantee Facility has been created to facilitate access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises within the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. The instrument is managed by the European Investment Fund and has a budget of 181 million Euros, which is expected to generate more than 1 billion Euros worth of loans for thousands of cultural and creative SMEs. Since 19 March 2018, PMV and START have been acting as Belgian financial intermediaries for this instrument. With an amount of 25 billion Euros worth of loans, more than 140Belgian SMEs will gain access to these additional funds. Belgium, a key player on the International film and television market Belgium has been a key player on the international film and television markets for a long time. Partly thanks to MEDIA and the various national and regional initiatives, the audiovisual sector in Belgium has been given a boost, both on an economic and an artistic level.
